Just an anectodal take on things. We have a Trump sign on our front lawn since we saw him at the Convention Ctr in Tampa back in June and it’s still standing, undamaged. Granted we live in Hernando Cty where it’s relatively conservative, but I see many Trump signs and bumper stickers all over the place around the Tampa Bay area. There are some hillary bumper stickers, but only one or two of her signs on anyone’s property. I saw more Sanders signs during the primary. Unscientific observations, but they gotta account for something.

Of that 49%, only 4% are actually voting for Clintoon. The other 45% are voting for more free stuff.

Regardless of the polls no one should be fooled into thinking this thing isn’t winnable. Depending on the poll as many as 25% of voters are not committing to any candidate. Clinton by default is the incumbent. Those voters if Trump plays his cards right and he is doing several things to move the numbers in the right direction will largely favor Trump. Also there has not been any debates. Let us not forget that at the end of August Reagan and Carter were essentially tied at 39% each. Reagan didn’t actually lead Carter again till right before the 1980 election which under estimated his support by 4%.

Those trying to suggest this race is over are playing mind games.

At that link you posted, Dukakis was still leading Bush by 7 points in August back in 1988. Bush won by 7.

A 14-point swing from August to November.

>> One thing to consider when you look at these numbers is that Donald apparently has not spent a dime on TV advertising <<

Any clue as to WHY Trump is holding back and letting Hillary & the media define him?

No one knows. It’s certainly deliberate on Trump’s part. One of Trump’s deal making tricks is to apear less than he is. For example durine the primaries Ted Cruz never stoped crowing about his data team and ground game and it was repeated over and over again that Trump didn’t have either. The reality is that Trump had a large data effort contracted out that gave Trump better analysis than Ted Cruz was getting. Trump just never talked about it and poor Ted was left flat footed in loss after loss by better team Trump get out the vote efforts.

I agree, its frustrating.

2 main theories

#1- Trump camp feels its a waste of money right now, as Hillary has spent over $90 mill in ads and she has a 3-5 pt lead at best... if you believe the biased polls...Best to unload a barrage on her in the last 6-8 weeks. (plus the internal belief that wikileaks is sitting on some bombshells they plan to release closer to the election)

#2- Trump has been screwed over by the RNC and top GOPe stiffs at every turn, so he won’t spend much in a rigged losing effort. He can get free media anytime and is way bigger on twitter (and social media in general) than Hilldawg... This is the one I fear.

If Hillary had not come out of her farce of a convention with good numbers she would already have dropped out and been replaced by Old Crazy Uncle Joe. She is the worst candidate ever and it is by the grace of God that she is still the one on top of the Democrat ticket. It is unbelievable that a person who is so utterly unqualified in every way to be president is running against someone so qualified. Her shills in the media have got to be gagging at the thought of what they must do every day to keep her propped up. Trump is just plugging away drawing huge crowds almost every day of the week. He will kick her crutches out from under her soon enough.

An anonymous staffer with the DNC issued this statement today:

“We have looked at the data and have determined the race is already over. Hillary Clinton has an insurmountable lead and will win the Presidency in landslide fashion!”

“We therefore see no reason to continue campaigning, giving Hillary a lot of time to rest and prepare for her 2 terms as President of the United States. Her relentless campaigning up until now has proved fruitful. Let Trump have his rallies with thousands of people. We don’t care. We will win. Trump is the Republican version of Bernie Sanders. He can have his thousands. It’s a lost cause”!

“We also urge Donald Trump to release his complete medical records for scrutiny. Hillary has been extremely transparent on this issue and we call for Mr. Trump to return the favor”.

Exactly. This crazy idea that the race is over is just smoke and mirrors trying to mind **ck us into giving up.
