There should be no death penalty. Conservatives on principal should not support it.
As a Christian, I absolutely support the death penalty, as I believe in the sanctity of life, and anyone who takes an innocent life should be punished.
The death penalty, administered in a timely manner when there is no reasonable doubt of guilt, deters other potential murderers.
The properly-administered death penalty saves lives.
I absolutely guarantee it.
You’re a conservative with no Biblical knowledge? How does that work?
There should definitely be death penalty; however it should be only for instances of absolute no doubt
Try losing a loved one to murder (I haven’t) and see how you react. Ted Bundy deserved it, Gacy deserved it.
One of the reasons I am not a conservative.
Did you read the article?
He willingly took part in a crime, being the getaway driver of a robbery, that resulted in a murder. In Texas, everyone involved in that crime is charged with murder. I agree. Criminals are not an endangered species, they are not protected, they are not special, they are not worth more than an innocent. They are a plague on the human race.
I will personally pay for that shot, voluntarily and without regret. Kill the vermin and send a clear message. Commit a crime and kill an innocent in the commission of that crime; and everyone involved has their life forfeited.
That is justice.
You are not a Conservative if you want to ban the death penalty. Your card has been revoked.
I don’t have a problem with execution, but I don’t know precisely what happens at death and execution just brings that about prematurely. I’m not against a little punishment here before death.
However, there is another huge reason to support the death penalty; Here in CA, activist judges caused our death penalty to be invalidate for a time and everybody on death row had sentences converted to life with possibility of parole, which many got and went on to kill again.
He is receiving justice. Doesn’t matter HOW the crime went down or the result, he was an active participant.
Bullcrap. It’s clearly Constitutional.
The death penalty is good. People by their heinous action have chosen to not live among us.
However, I am not seeing where this guy did anything heinous. He was an accomplice who didn’t know there was going to be a murder by the other guy. His crime doesn’t seem to need a death penalty punishment. But I’d be good with adding sexual abuse of children to death penalty crimes. Multiple stranger rapes as well.
there should be swift and decisive death penalty.
In cases where there is eyewitnesses and conclusive evidence, they should just shoot them right there in the courtroom at the end of the verdict.
“There should be no death penalty.”
Why not?
That’s not true.
You stand up to evil and reveal it’s just rewards.
Placing someone on death row to be a thorn in the side of prison guards for 50 years is not humane to the guards.
On what principal do you take your stand? Where is this principle to be found and explained as part of Conservative doctrine?
My guess is that you meant Christian principle, not Conservative principle. And even on that, it is often debated as to what the Bible says about the death penalty.
Is the world a better place with Charlie Manson still alive or with Ted Bundy dead. Some people just need killing.
I can’t think of the guy’s name but he was another Texan who was on death row back in the 1970s. The death penalty was banned by the government so we had to let out the monsters who had served the number required number of years if they’d been given a life sentence. Anyway, this guy got out and within days murdered a young woman around Waco. Texas learned a valuable lesson and reinstated the death penalty in 1976. There’s one guy here who’s been on death row for nearly 30 years so Texas isn’t quick to use the needle. Many have a better and longer life behind bars than on the streets.
