Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Thursday that GOP prospects for keeping control of the Senate after the November elections are very dicey, sounding an alarm amid mounting Republican concerns about presidential nominee Donald Trump. [
]
Twenty-four GOP-held seats are on the ballot this year, compared with 10 for Democrats, he noted. McConnell was promoted to majority leader two years ago when a Republican surge wrested Senate control from Democrats.
McConnell did not mention Trump as being a drag on Republican down-ballot races, but he chided Trumps campaign tactics. The Kentucky senator said he hopes Trump settles down and follows the script.

There are many of us who will vote for Trump...but the only way I will vote for a Republican down ticket is if I know they are with Trump. If they aren’t, then I’m writing in a vote, any Republican who isn’t all-in with Trump can go find their votes lose where.

People are people. Rabid Trump fans like myself are none too happy about going to vote for him and also voting for the bums who are trying to defeat him.

If Hillary wins, then Congress is irrelevant, just like it's been under Obama.
Taking the Executive branch back is more important in my mind.

They won’t stand up to Hillary (if she wins) nearly as often as we’d like them to, but at least they can provide a few speed bumps along the way.

Because a Dhimmicrap Congress will stymie a Republican president and rubber-stamp a Dhimmicrap one. We need some degree of ballast.

Mike Lee, Ben Sasse, Rand Paul )(on the libertarian side of conservatism, but I’d count him within its broadest parameters), Jeff Sessions, Ted Cruz, Jim Risch. Maybe a couple of others, though I can’t think of them right now.
A small handful in the House. Gohmert, Amash, a few others.

... sounding an alarm amid mounting Republican concerns about presidential nominee Donald Trump...Hello - it will matter not one iota if you do or do not hold the Senate if Trump loses the presidency - Hillary will add at least one more liberal justice to the Supreme Court, and you can say bye-bye to the legislative branch of the government - write all the laws you want - they'll be challenged all the way to the SC and the progressives will reinterpret them to make them say whatever THEY want, twist and turn whatever words they need to in whatever legal precedents they care to adopt, and your legislative agenda will be smoke - you'll have your fancy Senate jobs, and the country will have a one party dictatorship......

Yep, they are the very reason for that dicey outlook. They had both Houses and still gave away the farm. As Hillary wold say, what’s the difference?
To: Olog-hai
Too bad, so sad. By the way, Mitch, I’m part of your problem.

Show some guts and stand for Trump. Those senators who don’t are useless.
We won’t miss the likes of Kirk and Toomey. Same for Collins when it’s her turn.
Counting Republicans is useless, as we learned in 2010. The scoundrels will betray us.
Trump is our last hope. If he fails we are doomed.
