The Texas senators decision to not endorse the GOP nominee is looking pretty good right now.
WASHINGTON Immediately after Sen. Ted Cruz walked offstage at the GOP convention in Cleveland last month without endorsing Donald Trump, the Texas conservative and former presidential primary rival appeared to have made a grave miscalculation. (snip)
But after a week of Trump repeatedly setting himself on fire (declining even to wait for the previous fire to go out), politicians who endorsed Trump, such as House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), have found themselves feeling the heat, while Cruzs decision is starting to look like the better long-term bet. The panic within the party spread so much last week that several high-profile Trump supporters reportedly began contemplating staging an intervention with the candidate.
And Cruz, in rare fashion, has let the fire rage without adding his own gasoline. Hes doing a remarkable job staying quiet and letting people come to that conclusion on their own, said Amanda Carpenter, a longtime adviser to Cruz.
While those close to Cruz were confident the decision not to endorse would be the right one in the end, the quickness with which its panning out has been a bit of a surprise. Trump blew his own convention. While predictable, it still boggles the mind it happened, Carpenter said. Trump is like a tornado. You know its going to be devastating when it rips through your house but the aftermath is still shocking.
Cruz is well-positioned for a 2020 presidential bid should he succeed in resuscitating his image he took home nearly 600 delegates this cycle with the aid of an impressive grassroots organization. (snip)

I may catch hell for this, but I would rather vote for Jeb than Cruz after the character he displayed in the later part of the primaries.
cruz has established that he is a loser.
Perhaps you could have written your disclaimer at Post 1.
Still fail to see the utility of posting a stick to stir the pot with.
I think the likes of Cruz will get the blame if Trump loses. However, if Trump is elected president and the nevertrumpers worst fears are realized, Cruz will come out looking downright clairvoyant. It may be the gamble Cruz is taking.
But I think Cruz is going to be disappointed.
Beat me to it. Looks like were on the same page, analysis wise.

Thanks!
Ted is working alongside Mitt Romney and the Bushes to get Hillary elected. Ted is hoping that after 4 years of Hillary, he can come riding in as the Elmer Gantry in shining armor in 2020. That’s why his smug, self-congratulating speech at the Republican Convention was a rehearsal stump speech for 2020. The man is a waste of oxygen.
1. “NWO Never Trumper” - These are the Republicans who claim to be the “real conservatives” who have been in control of the party since HW Bush, but who are actually nothing but RINO New World Order globalists afraid that Trump will actually do what he says he would do.
2. “Socially Conservative Never Trumper” - These are real rock solid conservatives who are primarily driven by social issues. This group has been on the outside looking in at the NWO RINO’s who have run the party and the country into the ground after Reagan. These are the Tea Party Republicans, The Christian Coalition, or what's generally thought of as the “base” of the party. This group for the most part doesn't support Trump because they don't believe he will do what he says, that he is lying, pulling a con, ect. (in other words they think Trump is the same as every Republican they have had the chance to vote for since Reagan)
It is my belief that the NWO Never Trumper’s will probably never support Trump. Hillary is FAR closer to where they want to be than Trump.
BUT, I believe the socially conservative never Trumper’s WILL. They may be saying “now” they wont support him. But come election day... they will do what they have always done, pull the lever and hope for the best.
Yep. You nailed me, actually.
Number 2. At least I was...it’s been a long road. And most of what brought me on board has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with Hillary. As much as I didn’t like her before (I was in Westlake park in downtown Seattle in the early 90’s when we shut her down on her healthcare tour. I was so close to her that I caught her eye when I yelled “Thanks, Mom.” when she said what she was going to give us), she is beyond scary at this point. I’m talking Russian revolution, French revolution, rise of Nazism scary.
“Cruz turned out to be a douchebag, get over it.

You are too kind, Mr. C Gato. I dare not post what I think of Cruz : )
Tough call on who is the bigger Traitor, Cruz or socialist/globalist John Kasich.
You're right. I've been here so long and involved in so many Freeper events I assumed most here know me.
Newbies.
Apparently not.
I want everyone here to be aware what Cruz is up to. Cruz sending his right hand Amanda Carpenter to spout off to The Huffington Post demonstrates his ongoing sabotage.
And if Trump doesn't implode? What does that mean for Cruz?
Permanent irrelevance. Hopefully.
