There was a time when people like Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, and Erick Erickson were powerful voices within the Conservative movement. That was BT or Before Trump, when most American Conservatives were asleep at the wheel and operating on status quo neo-conservative autopilot, completely unaware that the maverick radio voices we hailed as rebels, were actually globalist shills-for-hire.
The silent majority was silent because we were napping, however, Trump has awakened the slumbering giant and were hip to the globalist trick played upon us by so-called radio conservatives, politicians, media, and pundits, who subtly pepper falsehoods like, amnesty is good, trade is fine, debt is just part of life, and nation building is patriotic throughout their schtick.
Yes, the slumber is over and the alt right is gleefully humming a tune commonly blasted at Trump rallies.
Were not gonna take it .Anymore.
One result of this awakening, is the downfall of several once powerful radio voices men whose egos are so immense and selfish that the very essence of their global schtick TRUMPED ethics, honesty, and common sense.
They all have one thing in common they each made the same mistake on the way to Irrelvence Island.
They joined NeverTrump.
Glenn Beck
Crazy Glenn Beck spent over half a million of his own dollars to try and get Ted Cruz elected. However, in the end all the money, fasting, and nazi-namecalling added up to a big fat zero. Cruz failed, NeverTrump never mattered, and Becks media empire crumbled (like a plate of crushed Cheetos).
Ben Shapiro
Once revered as the future voice of conservatism, Ben Shapiro was a beacon of hope within the conservative movement. However, everything changed for Ben when he decided to go NeverTrump and throw his career out the window to defend proven liar, Michelle Fields (see stories here, here, and here).
Erick Erickson
The moment Erick Erickson started bashing Trump two things happened. Firstly, he started resembling a thumb and secondly his career fell apart. Erickson went from being hailed as a powerful voice of conservatism to huffing and puffing all over Twitter, bitching about Trump with fellow NeverTrump dropkick Rick Wilson (another talentless hack who looks like a thumb).
Mark Levin
During the GOP primary we discovered that Mark Levin will support anyone as long as they promise to buy his dumb books. Levin went on a screaming-mimmy tirade for the last 3 months of Ted Cruzs race to loserville, bashing Trump and proudly stating he was NeverTrump. Since then, Levins ratings have tanked.
Hugh Hewitt
Hugh Hewit looks like a cross between Phil Donahue, George McFly, and Justin Bieber. His claim to fame was trying to trip Tump up with a gotcha question about some preposterously unknown faction of the Iraqi Army. Since then hes spent his time on the radio looking for ways to help Hillary and losing listeners.
Honorable mentions go to Rush Limbaugh and Dana Loesch. Rush has never gone full dumbo and declared himself NeverTrump, although his actions have us wondering. On the other hand, dopey Dana claims shes not a NeverTrumper (she is) however, she warns us that mean Trump supporters may push her there.
I’m street smart. Heard the term some years ago.
Never knew the meaning and didn’t care to look it up.
It was a gotcha type question when it was asked. To make the questioner look good.
Rush is kind of sly about his weak support of Trump.
Rush will read something negative from the media and repeat it over and over. And not just 2 or 3 times, but more like 7 or 8 times.
Then he will say, I didnt say it, the media did. I was just reporting it.
===================
Good point. And if he's so obviously pro-Trump, why is he always saying "this is not a criticism?"
Exactly right. Rush has been a supporter of Trump (as Trump himself has noted), despite the fact that many of his friends aren't. In fact, as an early Cruz supporter, he used to anger me because he supported Trump so much. (I'm all-in for Trump now.) Rush does not belong on this list.
Every time I hear Belling, I think: BLOW YOUR NOSE!!! It sounds as if it could require a ten-minute commercial break, but it would be worth doing.
Or he should wear those nasal strips Rush used to advertise.
Another person who needs to blow his nose is Todd Erzen. But since I never listen to Steve Deace anymore, I never hear Erzen. He has the voice of a stuffed-up 12-year-old girl, and nasal, too.
And his father’s books!
I just can’t quite figure out where Kuhner stands on anything!
LOL
"Once you get started listening to Jeff Kuhner at noon, youll never go back to Limbaugh."
As someone who has lived in liberal la la land, New England for many, many years and who used to be a faithful rush listener, I heartily agree with your assessment.
Jeff Kuhner is absolutely a quantum leap better than "rush" (no longer capitalized). Jeff doesn't bloviate, he doesn't mince words or water down his content so as not to offend or to stretch out his program in order to schlock his brand of tea, ties, books and other "rush" crapola.
He doesn't spend precious air time talking about and focusing on himself (or sports) all of the time like "rush" incessantly does. Instead he stays on point and forthrightly discusses THE ISSUES from a staunchly conservative view point.
BUT,, most importantly, unlike "rush" who hides in his gazillion dollar mansion and is "all talk and no action" (talk is cheap and rush makes a fortune talking/complaining about the same old stuff FOR DECADES WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT!);
Mr. Kuhner doesn't just TALK about these issues, HE PUTS HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS AND A C T S, by using his radio platform to organize public rallies THAT HAVE ACTUALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE TO LEGISLATIVE DECISIONS AND TO RAISING MONEY IN SUPPORT OF CONSERVATIVE CAUSES AND CANDIDATES! Also, unlike rush; Jeff also comes out and actually, vocally throws his support behind conservative candidates and issues and strongly encourages his listeners to join him!
So, all you "Freepers" who are tired of rush, and are looking for a fresh, genuine, viable, CONSERVATIVE alternative:
Check out Jeff Kuhner on WRKO from 12:00 - 3:00pm M-Friday Eastern Standard Time. His show is available on line, throughout the USA and the world via TuneIn Radio. Then stick around for Howie Carr who comes on next from 3:00 - 7:00pm.
And no, I am not a "troll", I don't work for Mr. Kuhner. I'm making this unsolicited endorsement because Mr. Kuhner is that good! He's got "fire in his belly" and reminds me of the man rush used to be in the beginning before fame and untold fortune went on his head.
NASAL.
Nasality, and VOCAL FRY, are rampant nowadays. And vocal fry used to be exclusively female, but no longer.
Every NeverTrumper was always an anti-birther. Bet on it.
Who owns the medium controls the message.
Jeff Bozos Amazone, Slim shady Mexico telecom, Clear Channel, Goldman Sux.
The dependents do as the boss orders. All the #NeverTrump talkers are just dependent employees, hence propagandists: Rush, Levin even Noory.
The independents are Matt Drudge and w.infowars.com Alex Jones.
When Matt Drudge gave his only interview in years, he gave it to Alex, so the message would be undistorted. His message was Hillary will shut down free speech.
I knew Rush was intellectually dishonest when he refused to discuss Soetoro’s crudely-forged documents. Same with Levin.
At least Hannity went after Soetoro’s Hard Left history.
Without a question there can be no answer.
Vice-versa makes no sense.
Who said;
May You live in Interesting Times,,,?
And We ain’t seen nothing Yet!
Subliminal Propaganda....
You are absolutely correct Badger re what Rush is doing. I was a faithful listener from the early 80s when he was a nobody in northern CA. I stopped listening when I realized the game he was playing. He thought his listeners weren’t smart enough to figure out what he was doing re Cruz. When Rush began to insult the listeners who were pro-Trump,I was gone, like so many others.
I also think he has personal animosity towards Trump-I don’t know why.
The first:
“The most likely connection to Chinese culture may be deduced from analysis of the late-19th century speeches of Joseph Chamberlain, probably erroneously transmitted and revised through his son Austen Chamberlain.[1]”
The latter: Bacman Turner Overdrive?
“Rush will read something negative from the media and repeat it over and over. And not just 2 or 3 times, but more like 7 or 8 times.”
“Then he will say, I didnt say it, the media did. I was just reporting it.”
Sounds like our concerned trolls when they post a negative poll or the latest end of Trump!
Thanks for posting this.
“Really, its no accident that all the NeverTrumpers were always anti-birthers. They have been corrupt forever.”
Wonder how many of the zotted Cruzers were anti-birthers?
Its meaningful to news junkies of a certain age.
It was a big deal in numerous epic defense budget battles in an age gone by. That was of course back in the days when there were meaningful budget battles.
Its notable that it seems to be the one thing about nuclear strategy stuck in the heads of journalists, a McGuffin term really.
So where are these ratings, I can’t find any.
I believe the correct spelling is Stephen Moore. I see it various ways. He’s head economist for Heritage and started the Club for growth and other non profit scams. He was on PBS Friday night bragging about being on the Trump team. For what he is, an ‘economist’, I’m sure he’s good. He’s just too close to Norquist/Rove. Any of them will change sides if they think it profits them. Sadly, DC is full up with them and Trump’s got to pick a few. When everyone has sold out to play the ‘game’, I suppose you pick the least offensive ones. I have to believe Trump knows more about what he’s doing than I do.
