The F-35B just participated in the most recent Red Flag. No word out on the street as to the performance of the F-35B, as far as I can tell.

There are now and will continue to be a lot of extremely competent and capable people playing with their new F-35 toys, too, each refining and improving their F-35s to best fit their individual needs.

Twice the range of the 16.....yeahhhh. With half the load, no gun, and no ability to outrun any adversary that meets it. This is a national embarrassment and the worst “fighter” we have ever built.
It certainly is when you consider that it is literally the most expensive weapons system in human history.
You know its propaganda when they brag about the bomb accuracy rate. JDAMS and other PGMs are accurate independent of the platform they fall away from.
You could drop a JDAM from any plane in the inventory and get the same accuracy rate.

The main payload of the JSF program is taxpayer dollars delivered to defense contractors in congressional districts. It is devastating in this mission, putting more dollars on more districts than any weapons system in the history of warfare.
Airflight, stealth, and combat capability are welcome side effects but largely unnecessary in the combat environment of tomorrow.
We need to make the aircraft succeed. And I think we will. It is going to have teething pains. People seem to be rooting for it to fail, and I think that is unwise.
I understand all the arguments against it and for an aircraft such as the A-10, but like you, I believe the battlefield has changed, and we better change with it.
