Carolann Miracle says it is a day that she will never forget.
Early Monday morning, Miracle was leaving a gas station with her family when she met Frank Taylor, who asked her for a cigarette.
Seconds later, KNXV reports that Taylor attempted to rob her.
Miracle says that Taylor put the gun to her neck and told her not to move, but he likely didnt know that she was also armed.
At that point, Miracle says she knew she had to act to protect her family.
I dropped my soda, released my gun from my holster and cocked it. I shot him and ran in the opposite direction, she told KNXV.
Taylor later died, which is something that Miracle is still dealing with to this day.
You are correct.
yeah, saw this reported on the CNN /s
noticed the $1.99/gal gas price.
It’s $2.63 in northern calif.
Just a guess, but maybe she things releasing the safety is cocking it.
“noticed the $1.99/gal gas price.

I paid 1.59 per gallon in Georgia Monday of this week. Best price I have seen in a long time.
I hope she did not spill too much of her soda.
Think of the misery that criminal won't be able to inflict on the rest of us... Nice to see a happy ending.
Dropping the soda must have distracted the dude long enough for her to shoot him as he had a gun to her neck.
Women face some unique challenges with concealed carry. Concerns about accidental discharge cause many to choose to carry without a round chambered. My Ruger doesn’t have a safety, so I choose not to have a live round in the chamber. I practice drawing and racking my weapon. Sure, it will take another second after drawing to be able to protect myself, but I have the element of surprise on my side. Most perps would never dream that their female victim might be armed or have the guts to actually fight back.
It’s $1.99 right now here in my part of Maryland.
That's what I like to see. Saves the taxpayers a fortune.
Not only does it take time to rack the gun, it requires both hands. Glocks do not have a manual safety. Mine has a round in the chamber at all times. The holster protects the trigger, and I never unholster it while wearing it. My Ruger doesn’t have a safety either, but it does have a de-cocker. I leave it racked as well, but with the hammer down, requiring a double action pull on the first shot.
Deal with this, lady, YOU came within a finger spasm of being dead. No joke.
Please contract with a professional firearms and self defense instructor. Carrying a properly holstered safe action type or modern DA/DAO handgun with a round chambered is very safe- holster and finger add two more layers of safety to the internals. Trust me, a modern handgun won’t fire by itself.
As previously mentioned, actuating the slide to chamber a round under stress becomes a major bottleneck in the self defense paradigm. I believe you owe it to yourself and those you carry for to be fully prepared and ready to defend yourself w/o fear of the gun. You are the weapon, the gun is only a tool to make it work well.
Great that you carry and are thinking.
I paid $1.81 near UNC-Charlotte yesterday, but it’s $1.93 where I live in the ‘burbs.

That’s because Moonbeam Brown & the Calif Democrat legislature ADDED ANOTHER 25 Cents to their state gas tax.
Time to move out of there!!!
Gas is about $2.22 here in N Nevada——EAST of Washoe County, which has an added gas tax.
And my current ANNUAL property tax is $676.11-—I paid it Monday of this week. Propane is $1.59 a gallon.
And I paid a Nickel for a
Hershey Bar ,
A NICKEL!
Wow. Who has a nickel, anyway?
