RNC Chairman Priebus 'Apoplectic' Over Trump's Refusal to Endorse Ryan
NBC News ^ | Aug 3 2016, 12:22 am ET | Katy Tur

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is "apoplectic" over Donald Trump's refusal to back House Speaker Paul Ryan or Sen. John McCain, a top Republican source said.

Priebus called several Trump staffers, including campaign manager Paul Manafort, to express his "extreme displeasure" with Trump's comments, the source with knowledge of the conversations told NBC News.

Trump, in an interview with The Washington Post published Tuesday, said of Ryan "I'm not quite there yet" — echoing language used by Ryan when he was reluctant to endorse Trump in May. Ryan eventually endorsed the GOP nominee. A spokesperson fro Ryan said Tuesday neither Ryan nor anyone on his team sought an endorsement from Trump.

The friendship between Priebus and Ryan goes back decades. Priebus was the GOP chairman for Ryan's congressional district before he was the state party chair. Ryan credited Priebus with the Republican takeover of Wisconsin in 2010.

There was talk Tuesday that key Republicans could come out against Trump. If Trump falls further in the polls, the party could come up with a backup plan to protect downballot races, the source said. "We have to figure out how to tread water," the source said.

Nein, nein, nein, the one who is highly suspect is the cat!

She's always trying to gain ground and advance position. She must be kept in check!

Why is it people are still in a fit with God over the laws of sowing and reaping.

Sow discord? Reap the whirlwind?
Sow in tears? Reap in Joy....

Ryan wants help?
He should show up on the tarmac at trump’s next campaign stop, with laptop and three-six finance committee members to draw up Trump’s spending and tax cut plans for presentation to the american people next month, for action to be taken in the first hundred days by congress... along with any other agenda items of trump’s choosing.

for example: Hire the damned architects for surveying out all aspects the southern wall and bring them along to start on the styles and engineering required.NOW.

I say don’t wait for some “negotiated” transition team to form dumb A$$ ryan... I say YOU BE the transition that the people want to see leading the House, or get the he11 out of our way! NOW.

I think it would be wise to offer to have at least 10 H.O.R. bills ready on Day one, passed and ready for Mr T to sign... and waiting for nothing, to get them in motion. If he offered to write up the outlines NOW per negotiations... Trump would eat it up and get the guys together and light a fire under the bureaucracy’s collective a$$ on January 20.

2500 miles of Military Grade fencing with concertina wire and electricity should be purchased NOW by congress using already allocated and existing funds and shipped to appropriate staging locations in the South, so that the first preliminary temporary constructions posts can go into concrete on Day 1 or 2.

Quotations requests and proposals for the chartered air conditioned buses to Mexico City should be in process by next week. We can telegraph the invaders need to ‘self deport’ asap... perhaps before November... we could offer a bonus for leaving consisting of about 90 days worth of their welfare payments for the next year... if they just get the hell out now. Conditioned upon waving of any due process... or NO financial bonus/benefits if hearings and incarceration are required.

The windfall cash would be a savings to us, and a reward for them for deciding to start respecting our laws... and leave until they can get in legally, or just stay gone for good.

I can think of a few hundred ideas that we could begin to move on NOW that would give this nation anticipatory pangs of hope for restoration... RYAN could easily help himself by this time tomorrow if he would only kiss the ring, pony up the cooperation and buy in to the new conservative national zeitgeist.

those who won’t move forward now... need to move out of the way.
Paul Ryan... are you just plain stupid or deaf?

Come out against trump, and I’ll vote against every R on my ticket except Trump.

That would be moronic.

What's the use of a President Trump who can't get anything through Congress?

What use is a Republican congress?

None that I can see.

They want my vote, they best back our nominee, otherwise f*** them.

“Paul Ryan and Meg Whitman are doing themselves in. They are jealous of Trump’s hitting the mark with his message.”

Dead on. They, and most other politicians, chose a path to ‘success’ that was based on being clever and learning to play the system in order to advance themselves. They’re jealous of a candidate that has based his success on genuine commitment to principles, honesty and civic virtue. No wonder they feel small and inadequate. They could have made the same choice themselves, years ago but they didn’t.

if he does get around to endorsing Ryan, he should go with the type of endorsement that Pence gave to Cruz.

What use is a Republican congress?

A Republican Congress under President Trump would have some hope of unraveling Obamunism and putting in place policies that will lift America out of its funk.

That's more than I can say about a Democrat Congress under Trump or any Congress under Clinton.

The only thing I think congress is going to do under trump is impeach and convict him just as fast as they can. That is republican or democrat congress too.

They aren’t going to do a damn thing other than help themselves like they always do.

But it’s like I said, they want my vote, then they damn well better start doing for their base and this country, otherwise they can go to Hell.

No one owes them squat.

>> Was Priebus “apoplectic” when Ryan was being a RINO a$$wipe? Screw him. AND Ryan.

Ryan is a natural born idiot. But Priebus has been making an effort not to be.

Last I checked it’s perfectly acceptable for a GOP nominee to stay out of Republican primaries, Katy Turd.

Ask Hillary! who she supports in the California Senate race between a black RAT and a Hispanic RAT. Oh, you mean the dishonest mainstream media won’t?

As far as RINO Ryan and McLame goes, what goes around comes around, fools.

Well, then perhaps Reince should have told Paul Ryan to stop running out to the media and backhanding Trump every time Trump said something he didn’t agree with. Paul Ryan makes it clear he is only “supporting” Trump because it’s a binary deal. Paul Ryan was caught taking digs at him at a Koch brothers fundraiser. Paul Ryan and Trump disagree a lot on policy - with Ryan agreeing more with Clinton on some issues.

Perhaps Reince should have told John McCain to come to the convention. McCain hasn’t said a single nice thing about Trump and clearly doesn’t support him. The war hero comments may have put him off, and I can understand that, but you would think that could be put on the back burner to stop Clinton. Also, I think they also have very key policy differences. McCain has made it clear that he isn’t behind Trump, didn’t come to the convention, doesn’t want to campaign with Trump, doesn’t want to say a nice word about Trump, and what? He’s shocked that Trump hasn’t endorsed him.

I don’t have a problem at all with Trump aligning himself with loyal people like Ward and Nehlen. Why should he endorse people who don’t like him and will be tough to work with? It’s the primary. Let the voters decide. Trump will back them if they get their nominations.

Nice people, zero chance of being supportive, pure scum.

Trump is doing exactly what Ryan has been doing to him daily.

Ryan’s endorsement was bullcrap.

Ryan came out on multiple occasions criticizing Trump without knowing the facts. If he knew the facts, he should have been defending him. If he didn’t know them, he should have shut the hell up, and let Trump handle it.
