Meg Whitman will support Clinton for president
The Hill ^ | August 2, 2016 | Rebecca Savransky

A Hewlett-Packard executive and Republican fundraiser said Tuesday she will back Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for president.

Meg Whitman said she plans to give a "substantial" contribution to Clinton's campaign to make sure Republican nominee Donald Trump

doesn't become the next president.

“I will vote for Hillary, I will talk to my Republican friends about helping her, and I will donate to her campaign and try to raise money for her,” Whitman told The New York Times on Tuesday .

Whitman, who ran for governor of California in 2010, said she doesn't agree with Clinton on many issues, but noted that the Democratic nominee would "be a much better president than Donald Trump."

An aide to Whitman said the billionaire businesswoman would personally give Clinton's campaign at least an amount in the "mid-six figures."

In the interview, Whitman also slammed Trump and said the Republicans need to "put country first before party," according to The New York Times.

She called Trump "a dishonest demagogue" and said he could take the country "on a very dangerous journey." She also said he has "undermined the character of the nation."

She said she stands by her former comments, in which she compared Trump to Hitler and Mussolini. She made the remarks during a private gathering of Republican donors earlier this year.

“Time and again history has shown that when demagogues have gotten power or come close to getting power, it usually does not end well,” Whitman said.

Whitman, who spent $140 million of her own money on her gubernatorial bid, is described by the Times as "a prized defector" for Clinton. The paper notes she is close to Mitt Romney and is rare female executive in Silicon Valley.

Ron Nehring, who served as national spokesman for Ted Cruz's presidential campaign, said he doesn't agree with Whitman's endorsement, but noted the "significance of it should not be discounted." He called her an "extremely tough, smart woman."

In a series of tweets, he noted Whitman was a "major supporter" of Mitt Romney and supported New Jersey Chris Christie in the 2016 Republican primaries.

"People listen to her," he tweeted.

"Trump now has a former CAGOP Gov nominee, a NY GOP congressman and Christie staffer all supporting Hillary. This is unsustainable."

Their lower price laptops are junk. The ribbon to the screen breaks. Their charger cords break internally. The wire is about the size of a hair. I switched my college kids to Asus and they had none of these problems. HP pro laptops I’ve used are better.

One thing that drives me nuts are their printer menus. Every one is different and not user friendly. Some of them have no way to set a default, so you have to enter your preferences every time.

I had a photo printer that worked nicely but when I got a new computer, no one in customer service could figure out how to make it work on the new computer.

Some of their printers sound like a piece of diesel rock crushing equipment. I’ve had ones I couldn’t use at night since they woke everyone who was asleep. I don’t find “bang, ka-clunk” a useful feature.

A lot of their products I’ve used are made by hardware and software developers who follow this motto: “OK, close enough. We’ve already spent too much time on this thing. Start selling them.”

I used great older HP equipment when I was in college long ago. It took me a long time to face up to the fact that today’s HP is not the same company.

Come on you two! If Meg Whitman can figure it out, so can you. Today is the day for you to learn it!!

Search for “html images”.

What you are looking for starts with <img src =

Practice by writing a fake post with your image in it. DON’T “Post” it, since we will see all your mistakes. Just “Preview” it. If it doesn’t work, try to find what you did wrong. Fix it and “Preview” again. Only if it works correctly should you “Post” it.

If you give up after seriously working on it by trying numerous times, “Mail” me.

I quit with anything HP years ago. Their printers suck, especially.

The head of company that’s addicted to H1-B and OPT visas is against Trump? Who knew?

I hope President DJT thanks HP & Silicon Valley for their support by eliminating the H1-B and OPT visas... permanently. It’s long past time these guest workers were sent home.

“If you have ever had the chance to work for an HP executive since the tech crash, what is really clear is they care about one thing...
Money and Power for themselves.
The old HP died in ‘95”

Yep. Between Carly and Meg, they have turned what used to be a good company into pure crap.
