He never said I will overturn Roe Vs. Wade.
Yuge difference.
Amen!
Why do you think Trump is going to appoint pro-life justices? Why do you think he’s been clear about that? If he didn’t think they’d do anything, he wouldn’t do it and he wouldn’t promote it. He says all the time that the Supreme Court is important, and one he cites making sure that justices are pro-life. He said that was the reason he put out the list of the justices. People know what he means when he says he will appoint pro-life justices. They know it means that Roe vs. Wade could be overturned. This is a standard Republican position every single election cycle. If Trump gets elected and doesn’t get enough justices, then it will be the following election cycle. This is one thing that proudly contrasts us with the Democrats.
Hillary Clinton and the Democrats have been campaigning on this issue already. The Democrats campaign on this every single cycle. Here’s the difference between the Democrats and us. The Democrats aren’t ashamed of their position. There are 1.3 million dead unborn children a year, but they tout it proudly. A woman came on the stage at their convention and said to cheers that she had an abortion. We hide because we are afraid of what the Democrats will say, afraid of what the media will say. Why? We have the winning position. We are the ones arguing for the lives of 1.3 million unborn children. They are the ones arguing for their deaths - and more actually as they would like more abortion clinics. Our problem on this issue is that we cower in fear and give them the narrative. They are allowed to tout their support of abortion, but we have to hide our opposition to it because their support wins elections and our opposition loses it?
This is not a church issue. It’s not a religious issue. It’s a human rights issue. The right to life transcends all religions and belongs to all persons. I used to discuss abortion in another forum online, and a couple of the most pro-life people I knew weren’t religious at all. They didn’t believe in God, but they believed that one person didn’t have the right to take the life of a another.
Of course it was. Republicans (and never Democrats) are aways asked about abortion and other social issues. It's an easy fumble.
hear,hear!
“Now, if you use just a couple of your brain cells you will understand why I fight rather than sit around wasting my time on useless POS like you.”
Name call much?
Vote Trump 2016
“No, its stupid because it diverts attention away from the terrorist threats and open borders and destructive economic policies.”
No, it doesn’t. But you keep wringing your hands now. K?
Vote Trump 2016
I think in the general scheme of things you say that the states should decide matters of conscience that are not stipulated in the constitution. But to come out now, is the mistake our side makes each time. The dems are trying to brand him has a looney bird, which he’s not.
So what if the other side gets fired up? I really don’t care if they do. John Brown fired up the other side as well.
ALSO!........Hillary and her minions are on stage praising and promoting every despicable, dirty,, immoral act........including abortion......openly and proudly.....
....and many of you here are reacting so rudely and out of bounds to what Pence may or may not have said.
GET A GRIP
Amen....make it illegal
Don’t forget that a woman got up before the DNC convention, proudly proclaimed she had an abortion, and she got a rousing applause.
Pence should say: “we will appoint judges to the SC who will follow the Constitution.” We know what that means.
And how many votes does Pence think he will take away from Hitlery by saying they will overturn Roe v. Wade?
He’s an idiot.
If a case to repeal Roe v. Wade ever does reach the Supreme Court and if it is struck down then it’ll likely be on a vote of 5 to 3 or 4 to 3.
You make my point!
I know abortion is not fine. I don’t support abortion, obviously. But prior to 1973, we had a compromise that worked. Some states permitted it, some restricted it, and some states banned it. It was the perfect political solution, until the black robes decreed.
Well, I guess this thread proves that FR has been taken over by a bunch of left-wing, foul-mouthed concern trolls. I didn’t support Trump in the primaries, but will now vote for him since he chose Pence as his running mate.
The hilarious thing about all the hand-winging is that it is about as un-Trumplike as you can get. It sounds like the Romney-Lindsay-McCain accommodationist wing that were the nominees in 08 and 12.
Pence didn’t make an Akin comment about rape and conception. Roe v. Wade is an extremist position, as is the gay marriage ruling last summer. It’s 5 unelected dictators making law out of nothing and forcing it on us. It’s a softball that Trump and Pence can turn into a winning issue and hit out of the park. It highlights the importance of states deciding rather than five black-robed thugs. Most polls indicate broad support for overturning Roe v Wade, and this includes some abortion supporters.
So, I don’t know where all of you came from, but this shows me you’re not Trump supporters, nor do you have an ounce of understanding of his communication style. I am glad Trump brought an end to the pandering. It’s too bad so many of you fools didn’t get the memo.
LA Times manufactures its own hatred toward the truth. Pence probably said this a while back, and he is not prone to cater to other people’s fears.
It’s one sure way to drive the left apoplectic, though: state the truth.
You seem a little confused.
Trump leads a nationalist movement with an emphasis on God given American greatness. Not a religious movement. Or a life saving movement for the unborn. The Constitution is what it is. And, if followed would not have mandated abortion rights and taken those rights to deny abortions from to the states. But that does not translate into a Constitutional mandate for the Pro Life credo.
It is the religious zealots who demand that an Article be found in the Constitution that supports their position. Sorry Charlie. There isn’t one. Your candidates have gotten their asses kicked while the country has gone to Hell. For my part, I oppose abortion, but am not willing to have another 30 years of bad government to keep a political position that is a loser.
