After a week of raucous protests that some had hoped and others had feared would disrupt the city and the Democratic National Convention, Thursday saw emptying streets, packing protesters, and the dying flame of their clamor.
Across the city, smatterings of protesters held out - and one group planned a final march from South Philadelphia to the Wells Fargo Center Thursday night, a last chance to rally with delegates in the arena.
But the demonstrations that had filled Philadelphia's streets day and night began fizzling on the convention's last day as severe thunderstorms rumbled into the city and exhaustion reigned.
The week had largely proven peaceful. By Thursday morning, Philadelphia police had issued 103 citations and the Secret Service had arrested 11 people for jumping over security fences, police said. Only five of those cited were from the Philadelphia area, according to Police Commissioner Richard Ross, the rest from out of town.
Nine of the arrested demonstrators were released by a U.S. magistrate judge Wednesday and Thursday. Another, a Rhode Island man found with three "throwing knives" as he breached an eight-foot security fence surrounding the Wells Fargo Center, will have to stand trial, and the last will appear in court Friday.
After rowdy crowds roiled Broad Street outside the convention venue on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the reality of Hillary Clinton's nomination had many protesters subdued.
At Franklin D. Roosevelt Park near the Wells Fargo Center, Sanders super-fans who had camped in the grass all week were packing up Thursday to go home. Workers broke down the stage that had hosted several national Bernie delegates at a weeklong event termed "Philly Awakening."

They call it stormy Monday....but Thursday’s just as bad.
The MSM had ratings visions of Chicago 1968 dancing through their heads. Never was going to happen.
Hmmm....the fact there is such a well designed and developed program seems to be important.
There is more there there than just talk
Myanalysus is that Bernie was never a Democrat.
Wimps
Fingers crossed that Bernie’s delegates will follow through with their “fart-in”, whether it’s the old-fashioned way or via loud recordings from their cell phones, during her speech.
It fizzled because thy ran out of government money before the end of the month. They’ll come back once they get a new months supply of EBT and welfare cash.
It is quiet because of the rain, if there’s a break in the clouds it could ramp up.

(the last one was some Westboro-Jewish protest - before that someone tried to burn a flag but a black Trump supporter stopped it)
I thought the Bernie delegates walked out ?
Other than silly circus inside, I was so hoping for the various malcontents to put on a show. Trump would have gotten an even bigger bump and some good talking points relating to his theme of “law and order”. I’m bumbed.
The video in #10, which might have been filmed or uploaded an hour ago, says they’re not even being let into their seats. That could cause a big stink too. :-)
Hehe. What time is the witch supposed to speak?
Anyone know if the bikers for Shrillary showed up?
Both of them?
Why she speaks at the witching hour of course.
And white noise generators installed above them to silence their cheers and boos.
Incredible.
This is right out of the Soviet Union.
