Donald Trump Challenges Russia to Find Hillary Clinton’s Missing Emails
New York Times ^ | JULY 27, 2016 | ASHLEY PARKER

DORAL, Fla. — Donald J. Trump said Wednesday that he hoped Russia had hacked Hillary Clinton’s email, essentially sanctioning a foreign power’s cyberspying of a secretary of state’s correspondence.

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr. Trump said, staring directly into the cameras. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

Mr. Trump’s call was an extraordinary moment at a time when Russia is being accused of meddling in the U.S. presidential election. His comments came amid questions about the hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s computer servers, which researchers have concluded was likely the work of two Russian intelligence agencies.

Later in the news conference, when asked if he was really urging a foreign nation to hack into the private email server of Mrs. Clinton, or at least meddle in the nation’s elections, he dismissed the question. “That’s up to the president,” Mr. Trump said, before finally telling the female questioner to “be quiet — let the president talk to them.”

The Clinton campaign immediately accused Mr. Trump of both encouraging Russian espionage against the United States and meddling in domestic politics.

“This has to be the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent,” said Jake Sullivan, Mrs. Clinton’s chief foreign policy adviser. “This has gone from being a mattter of curiosity, and a matter of politics, to being a national security issue.”

Mr. Trump has largely dismissed assertions that Russia was behind the Democratic committee breach as conspiracy theories — a view he reiterated again when he said the hack “is probably not Russia.”

Funny how the FBI jumped on the DNC email hack so quickly. It is almost as if the leftists care more about protecting The Party than The USA... /sarc

Why would Russia's releasing Hitlery’s 30,000 deleted emails effect national security? They were all personal and had nothing to do with national security, yoga and such.

Hillary Clinton campaign responds to Donald Trump's challenge to Russia to find "missing" Clinton email, says its first time presidential candidate has enouraged espinonage against opponent - CNBC

Now that's a mistake. She should have kept silent for the sympathy vote. Instead she legitimizes the issue.

I see, so it’s a problem that Trump wants Putin to find Hillary’s missing emails, but it isn’t a problem that Hillary’s emails are missing or in such a state that the Russians would be capable of finding them?

The accusation that Russia has already hacked and provided Trump with knowledge obtained in those emails, is already out there, regardless of its validity. Since Hillary does not have the server anymore, and wiped it clean (with her little towel), he is not inviting any foreign government to do anything.

Beyond that, I will emphatically state with a 100% level of confidence that Russia neither needs, or would wait for, an invitation to spy on American politicians of either party. They do it as a matter of policy and standard operating procedures. Hillary just made it so easy for them to do so, as did the DNC.

Accepting one word from the NYT is the equivalent of beating your self over the head. Nothing that rag says has any merit.

No, he steals the news cycle during the Dem convention, and it costs him nothing. It keep the emails story front and center.

I think that was funny. If they are going to accuse Russia of the hack, then it is only logical that Russia bring forth the rest of the emails.

That would be ironic.
