Ted Cruz Favorability Rating Collapse Confirmed in National and Ohio Post-RNC Convention Polls
Gateway Pundit ^ | 07/26/2016 | Kristinn Taylor

Ted Cruz’s failure to endorse rival Donald Trump for president at last week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio has apparently caused his favorability rating among GOP voters to collapse, according to a national survey and an Ohio poll.

An NBC News/Survey Monkey nationwide poll released Tuesday and a PPP survey of Ohio Republicans released Monday confirms the shocking collapse in Cruz’ favorability rating among Republican voters following the convention seen in a CNN/ORC poll released Monday.

CNN/ORC:

“Cruz’s move, however, appears to have backfired. While 60% of Republican voters had a positive impression of the former presidential candidate before the convention, just 33% have one now.”

NBC News/Survey Monkey:

“Ted Cruz, who scored a strong round of boos when he declined to endorse Trump in his speech to the RNC, was not viewed kindly by Republicans voters. Though Cruz finished second in the GOP primary race, just 28 percent of members of his own party now view him favorably; 68 percent now view him unfavorably. Clearly, his performance at the GOP convention was not received well by his party.”

PPP Ohio:

“The biggest loser from the convention is Ted Cruz though. He has an 18/65 favorability rating with Ohio voters, making him by far and away the least popular figure in our poll. Even among Republicans he’s at just 23/61. We asked GOP voters who they would support in a hypothetical primary contest between Trump and Cruz, and Trump wins out 61-19.”

I didn’t see an /s after your post. Are you serious? The RNC gave the sleazy arse hole a chance to speak and speak he did.....spoke his smartass self right in to the ground. I’m happy seeing this poll today and I’ll be even happier when we get rid of that POS in his next election!

His entire campaign this year, summed up in handy GIF form, with his daughter representing the voters. ;)

I am grateful he didn’t win for multiple reasons.

1. He’s ineligible

2. He doesn’t have the skills to run this country. Watching Trump this a.m. talking about his reforms for the VA was a beautiful thing - an executive who knows what he’s doing taking charge and putting in place policies that will actually hold people accountable and get things fixed.

3. Ted has personality problems - people end up not liking him and this will follow him throughout life - as it already has.

“It was amazing to watch someone commit political suicide in prime time.”

I’ve never seen anything like it. The closest I can think of is Charlie Sheen. And I’m guessing that Charlie still has more supporters than Lyin Ted.

Cruz was not a Bush favorite for the Senate.

Yeah, a really mixed bag with Ted. He was with Bush clan some, yet they dissed him over the TX SCOTUS case and were snubbing him in the primary. His father’s story went two directions, too. I was excited by his contsitutionalism early on, then jaw-dropped at his developing realities. Oh, well, a several hundred dollar lesson learned.

Lol, Buffy. Lyin Ted tried to bully the GOP and Trump/Nominee supporters.

It backfired, completely.

He wasn’t being “bullied” at all and you Cruzbots, still hanging onto the illusion of him and not the REAL Teddy, need an intervention AND deprogramming.

He had the perfect opportunity to set himself up and he threw it away. What for, Ted?

What the hell for?

From a former big-time supporter: Verrrry disappointed.

“I went to war with Mr. Trump; I pushed as hard as I could; I challenged him in every way I knew how. At the end of the day, the Republicans have selected their Champion who must now defeat HRC. I know Mr. Trump has the mettle to do exactly that because I helped sharpen him, and now, I fully support him and ask my supporters to do the same. HRC simply can NOT be POTUS.”

He throws something like that onto the end of his speech and he retains his dignity and his support. Instead, he will now drift off like smoke.

Woah! Didn’t you really have to go that far?? Jeez, give Traitor Ted a break! :)

These folks are a MINORITY in Texas; the majority, there, are now all WITH Trump; and can’t stand Teddy.

Well, the Right has 33% that are “Loony Right,” which is worse than the Left that only has about 24% who are “Loony Left.” I guess our “moron pundits,” like Mark Levin, George Will, Bill Kristol, et.al are better purveyors of bull$hit than theirs are!
And we continue to think that we are “more educated” than they are. It just amazes me, based on all that has transpired, that before Cruz died from his “seif-inflicted” verbal wounds at the RNC, there were still 60% on “our side” who had a “positive impression” of sCruze. And we are worried about Hillary!

I'm fairly certain that your doctor informed you about the pitfalls of skipping your medication.

I would take them, if I were you.

"I appreciate his refusal to be bullied by the GOP."

Bullied? Seems Traitor Ted did all the bullying and then refused to provide a mature and graceful exit.

Went to an Eagle Club meeting a few days ago and the general discussion included how bad most everyone felt that Cruz had disappointed us with his Convention non-endorsement. The Republicans forced that mutual support agreement down Trump’s throat, and then they didn’t abide by it in the end. Hope it bites every one of them as bad as it is hitting Cruz right now.
