A German protestant theologian said that radical bible groups are a bigger radicalisation threat to adolescents than Islamists, and downplayed the number of minors who have converted and left Germany to fight for Islamic State. Harald Lamprecht, Christian theologian and sect commissioner for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony, in an interview with Der Morgenpost claims that radical bible groups are more of a risk to the youths of Saxony than Islamism.
During the interview, in which the theologian was asked to advise parents of how to look out for signs of Islamic radicalisation, he told parents not to panic and advised them, rather, to be more prepared to keep watch for warning signs of Christian radicalisation:
As for the threat of Saxon youths, be prepared for radical Bible groups. They are a much bigger problem than Islamists.

These teens who study the Bible will be killers just like those dangerous refrigerators Kerry worries about. The loony left has warned us.
I wondered what the perjorative would be when they began to come after the Christians for slaughter.
I guess we know now.
The very end times are upon us. Get right with your Lord.
Yes, we’re suckers for Jesus. :)
I bet these Bible groups use refrigerators and air conditioning, too!
Perhaps Rev. Lamprecht went to the same theological school as Obama's pastor, Rev. Wright.
Yeah, you know how bad those ‘fridges can be when they land on you and don’t mention to me about those A/C units ... those that are attached to apartments waaaay up there.
Not at all, if you read from his comments in German sources. He was referring strictly to Saxony, where there is less Islamic radicalization than in other parts of Germany. He said the biggest spiritual problem in his location was the profusion of “Christians-in-name-only” sects which twist the meaning of the Bible.
So he’s referring to Christian cults who twist the Bible like the “Westboro Baptist” church does in the US, or others maybe less “shocking” who detract from salvation through grace and replace it with a theology where man can save himself.
Regardless of what the muslims do with their own book they are not as great a *spiritual* threat to his flock in Saxony because they aren’t attracting converts as much as CINOs, and in any case are not twisting the words of the Bible to lead Christians into rejection of salvation through grace, which is for him, the greatest concern.
Typical...Not a single example of the charge he gave...
He says he has been misquoted.
The problem in Saxony, which is the region he was commenting on, has been the influence of supposedly “Christian” groups which recruit, feed their recruits twisted excerpts from the Bible, and while doing so isolate their recruits from their families and friends.
He wasn’t talking about terrorism he was talking about spiritual threats to the church.
Actually, one might observe that both believe what they call scripture.
Christ’s disciples heard that He said His kingdom is not of this world so they didn’t run right out and start wars. To be truly His disciple makes one more likely to be peaceable, honest, and virtuous.
Mohammad’s disciples understood their kingdom is of this world so they all too soon went out murdering, thieving, raping, and conquering ... under Mohammad’s leadership of course.
But we should expect no better of Mohammad who was in bondage to the spirit of antichrist as were and are his many dupes.
It is my sincere with that people reading crap on the internet would bother to research a little before shooting off their mouths, wishing death on people they do not know based on that crap.
He was misquoted by a reporter who had an agenda of their own... probably a desire to create juicy clickbait.
Here’s a rather poor translation of a German article about the comments, but the gist is fairly clear that he was referring to his local and spiritual problems facing his church. He’s not losing parishioners to Islam because there simply aren’t as many islamic groups around to attract Saxony youth... so instead he’s seeing the young and vulnerable being drawn into fringe groups that claim to be Christian but aren’t, they are cults:
“Background of the rate quoted by the morning post was the first purely historical determination that he has more to do with radical distortion of the Bible had as Church sect Commissioner as with salafistischen groups, which twisted the Koran. Because in the past there have been hardly any Muslims in Saxony, Germany. With “radical Bible group” Bible circles by Bible-faithful Christians of municipalities and communities never were meant, but special shapes in groups outside country churches or free church references that take out children and young people from everyday life which leads to isolation. In conversation he led examples of parents who “lost their children to festered groups” - of the radical ‘holic group”. Whose members had broken off all contacts with their relatives. Lamprecht: “such cases are purely numbers level more often than the three known cases of successful Islamist agitation in Saxony.”
Thank you for the graphics and link. Quite the comparison.
What the heck is a radical Bible group?
Catechism Class ???
Don’t forget how grateful we should be to Muslims for the tiny numbers of books they saved from all the libraries that Muslims burned. Why, if it wasn’t for Islam we would have lost all that knowledge, as opposed to merely almost all.
What is this guy talking about.?
Salfists are fundamenalists.
Did Muhammad and the 4 Caliphs immediately following Muhammad twist the religion?
I don't think so. -Tom
Please check out my post #56. I think we are thinking along the same lines, but you obviously have done more research on this.
Sounds like he got that wrong. Just like those who say Islam needs a reformation. ISIS IS their reformation!
Well that clears that up. Thanks.
