It is my sincere with that people reading crap on the internet would bother to research a little before shooting off their mouths, wishing death on people they do not know based on that crap.
He was misquoted by a reporter who had an agenda of their own... probably a desire to create juicy clickbait.
Here’s a rather poor translation of a German article about the comments, but the gist is fairly clear that he was referring to his local and spiritual problems facing his church. He’s not losing parishioners to Islam because there simply aren’t as many islamic groups around to attract Saxony youth... so instead he’s seeing the young and vulnerable being drawn into fringe groups that claim to be Christian but aren’t, they are cults:
