WaPo: Why Republicans should vote for Hillary Clinton
Washington Post ^ | July 22, 2016 | John Stubbs

Posted on 07/22/2016 5:47:03 AM PDT by Zakeet

We can't have President Trump, and she could do more to advance conservative ideas than he would.

With the theatrics and tumult of the Republican National Convention behind us, many Republicans remain steadfast in their opposition to Donald Trump to be president of the United States. The reason is simple: Their conscience says he does not reflect their principles, nor those of our Republican Party. Trump’s isolationist approach, bombastic rhetoric and ignorance of issues are not things we can be proud to support. The president is the commander in chief, a role model for our children and America’s top ambassador to the world.

Republicans can either allow Trump to rebrand the GOP as unstable, xenophobic and crude, or they can regain control of their party. It may mean losing this election, but if they want a principled, rational agenda that reflects American values and promotes liberty, prosperity and security, there is no other choice: Writing in or staying home puts Republican control of the Senate at risk, and a libertarian protest vote could toss the election to Trump.

The last remaining option is an extreme option: Vote for Hillary Clinton.

"..With the theatrics and tumult of the Republican National Convention behind us.."

That'll be a good one to throw back in their face after the demoncRAT convention turns into a "melee of the perpetually offended".

For the WaPo and all the other whining enemedia this morning, we have a saying down here in the South.

Because, if Trump is elected voters may realize that the republican party isn’t all of the terrible things democrats and the media use to beat them.

Because of Trump, a republican audience applauded a gay man for saying he’s proud to be Republican/gay/American. A lot of people who probably hate the fact he’s gay are happy to work with him on issues we agree - and there are a lot of those issues of agreement.

It would be a disaster (for Ds) if voters realize that republican opposition is about ideas, not race/gender/sexuality. How can Ds ever win outside a few places like California if elections start to be about ideas? Trump MUST be defeated since he can bring a lot of the D base into the R party. The media, Ds, and some Rs (Cruz, Kristol) will do everything they can to stop that from happening.

Trump’s speech resonated with so many Americans because his sole focus was on us the American people and how we can make the country better for us! Oh my what a horrifying concept to a lefty or member of the GOPe. I know this speech was a home run because the media, the libs, and the establishment RINOS are all having a fit over it. Trump spoke the words that a good many Americans have waited to hear for decades. We need to clean up our own house before worrying about the rest of the world’s problems. That’s all Trump was saying last night. He nailed it!

Trump really doesn't represent American ideals. But he does so more than Hillary.

And one of the two WILL be President. A third party vote, or staying at home, IS a vote for Hillary.

If youor “conscience” won't let you vote for a flawed candidate over an evil one, then staying at home is a vote for the evil one. Make no mistake.

The Washington’s Post’s great ‘sources’ (all corrupt liberal elites) lose value when the power elite’s are Republican. Yes, liberal elites will still feed the paper stories - but who wants the ‘inside’ story about powerless disgruntled liberals??

The Washington Post has a dog in this fight.

“War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.” ~Orwell, “1984”

I’m familiar with a much better author and I recommend him without reservation.

Thanks for pointing out the latest absurdities at WaPo. It’s always good to see part of the opposition’s playbook.

Thanks for the advice Washington Compost but I think I’ll just stick to this side of the sane/insane divide.

#NeverTrumpers never explain how four more years of Obama would preserve conservatism.

This is just too good.

The Democrats will be presented as the sane and tolerant party next week.

I have no plans to watch their convention.

Several whining beatchie articles posted today from the insane asylum which is the Compost. Likely straight from the Democratic Party HQ to the Compost presses with a hapless jackass author given ‘credit’ for.

Clinton is Corrupt. She’s a deceiver, a cheat, a predator and enabler, a liar, incompetent, and socialist.

But the corruption is evident throughout her history and in all her transactions.

I would vote for Jimmy Carter over Hillary Clinton, and Jimmy Carter was awful and incompetent. But he came no where near to this type of corruption.
