He wasn’t betrayed.

Cruz’s speech was vetted...

I never found Huckabee to be Presidential, but I have never doubted his Christianity or his love of Country.

As an early Cruz supporter, I will forever find ALL three lacking in him. His performance was shameful.

Nope. Trump knew exactly what he was doing: giving Cruz the room to destroy his own political career. Cruz obliged.

In politics, you give sh!t and you get sh!t. Cruz just wants to give it. Unfortunately for Cruz, he got into a throwing contest with the wrong guy.

I think Cruz is having a mental breakdown. He is becoming chaotic and has already destroyed his future.....all by himself.

He's going to cause all kinds of chaos in the Senate when Trump takes the Presidency.

Nothing would surprise me. I see ethics charges in his future. The Senate is not going to put up with his cr**.

Huckabee is a great speaker, but his pardoning of those murderers when he was governor sealed his fate.

He knew exactly what Cruz was going to do, he showed the whole nation why he didn’t and was never going to pick Cruz as his Vice President...

After listening and seeing Pence and his lovely family, would you want Cruz as your Vice President? No, I didn’t think so...

Re: Cruz: The GOPe establishment wanted to get to get rid of Cruz as well. The top three were Trump, Carson & Cruz during the campaign and in the polls. This was a nightmare for establishment uniparty republicans. Please keep this in mind Mr. Trump!

GOPe - establishment is not truly behind you in my opinion.

Moot point. Trump knew he could weather anything Cruz had to say. He needed to let Cruz speak to show that he’s serious about unifying the Party. Michael Moore has admitted publicly that Trump will be President. That’s as good as an endorsement. Moore is smarter than he looks and may well have sussed that the fact that the fascist oligarch Wall St. bankster controllers of the GOP were apoplectic over Trump meant that Trump needed to be reconsidered by anyone with sympathies for the Occupy movement.

This is flatly false.
Newt reviewed Cruz’ speech before it was delivered.

Let’s stick with reality.

Ted Cruz the AV Geek was invited to the big Football party with the team and the cheerleaders and instead of acting cool and making nice he got drunk, pooped in his pants, pissed on the rug, threw up on the head cheerleader and groped the family dog.

Ted Cruz.: The new Tim Misney. Doing wills and chasing ambulances for a career.

If personal principles were indeed the prime motivator for not honoring his pledge, as Ted finally told the Texas delegates at a breakfast gathering, then he should have politely declined the invitation to speak at the convention. I think, retrospectively he will realize that putting his personal vendetta ahead of our country’s best interests was a great opportunity missed. He could have rose above it, unfortunately he was blinded.

I was a Cruz supporter up until he blamed Trump for inciting violence at the Chicago rally.

It’s time to move on and beat Hillary.

I look forward to following Cruz lack of success in the private sector, now that his career in government is almost over.

Trump knew in advance what Cruz was going to say and just gave him the rope to hang himself. I guess Cruz will now complain that it was a new rope as well.

I believe that DJT is a savvy enough guy to have never fully trusted Cruz, and had that view reinforced - in spades - over time. The campaign did get a look at the speech in advance, so they knew what was coming.

DJT acted graciously by letting Cruz speak, and probably did about what DJT expected. DJT thus looks better (or, more accurately, demonstrated to everyone the kind of person he actually is), and at the same time he gave Cruz the rope with which he hung himself. Cruz, of course, being a short-sighted egomaniac, dutifully wrapped it around a yard-arm and his neck, and then jumped. Idiot!

Everyone is seemingly surprised...but just remember, DJT is a big and long-term thinker/strategist. No, he’s not perfect, but he’s playing 3-D chess at a high level while most everyone else is having trouble mastering checkers. You don’t get where he has without being brilliant and planning, planning, planning. Hillary is going to be destroyed.
