But he’s got a Nobel Peace Prize. That makes him a Climate Scientist, doesn’t it?
The agency that monitors air quality here in Pittsburgh once put their downtown sensor directly above a bus depot where diesel engines were idling all day.
The local news here (Houston) keeps sensationalizing the heat. It’s going to be in the high 90’s today. DUH! It’s SE Texas! What did you expect? They keep “warning” people to drink water, go to a cooling center (the city set these up), and only take your kids to the playground before such and such time because it will be too hot afterward!
What a crock of crap! It’s hot. Get out in it and get used to it!
Besides, scientists who have studied the temperature of the atmospheres of Mars and Venus and the upper atmospheres of our gas giant planets note a warming over the last 100 years. That either tells us the Sun's radiation output is changing or cosmic rays from outside the Solar System are causing the warming, too.
And averaging.....When it's 80 here, 10 miles west of us....it can be 75.
There are so many factors associated with temperature because temperature is always on the move.
Ponder this...
How do scientist get worldwide temperatures? Not just over land, but over the oceans, which cover most of the earth?
The answer lies with technology that was only been available for 40 years.
We know very, very little about the earth’s temperature record, really.
Interesting that the highest heat spikes are in the middle of Russia (Soviet Union in 1981).
Such claims are wrong. I am sure that many good NOAA employees are mortified by such outrageous and unsupported claims that global temperatures are the hottest ever.
The real NOAA scientists know better, but are being overturned by leftist bureaucrats on top.
Looking forward to getting NOAA back into practicing valid science.
More than half the world has missing data
The atmosphere over the oceans is statisticakly more important because it tends to be more dense.
If you put your weather station by heat sources you get global warming. See links.

USHNC weather stations depicted in red or orange have an estimated error rate of more than 2 degrees Celsius due to their proximity to artificial heat sources, according to a Dec. 2015 study. (surfacestations.org)
