The local news here (Houston) keeps sensationalizing the heat. It’s going to be in the high 90’s today. DUH! It’s SE Texas! What did you expect? They keep “warning” people to drink water, go to a cooling center (the city set these up), and only take your kids to the playground before such and such time because it will be too hot afterward!

What a crock of crap! It’s hot. Get out in it and get used to it!

Funny, here in the Northwest we have had a very cool summer so far. Highs mostly in the low to mid 70’s. Sometimes in the 60’s. No talk of Gorebull warming. I imagine the next time we hit 80 it will start again.

I’ve noticed this heat alarmism, too. Imagine a newly minted 18 year old adult...his entire life, he has been told that temperatures are unusually warm. When he goes outside in July and sweats his butt off under a blazing sun, he believes this is an unusual harbinger of global catastrophe. IOW, this propaganda campaign gone on long enough to make him a true believer, completely unaware that the sun could burn you in the 1980s just as much as it can today.

Yup. When I was 15, I'd hop on my bicycle in 100 degree weather with 100% humidity and ride 15 miles to NASA, so I could set my watch using the atomic clock displays in Mission Control. Yeah, I was a nerd, but I wasn't sitting on my ass at home. People are such wimps these days.
