Not what I would do but.........I guess his calculation was different, or maybe he has issues that he could get past. I'm not a Trump fan, but I would do anything I can do to stop the Clintons and Democrat party from doing any more damage than they have already done.
I guess he couldn't get past Trump personally accusing his father assassinating JFK, or him being a whore master or his wife of being responsible GS malfeasance. Dang why don't he write?

Will he now go after Hillary with the same intensity? Not so far but time will tell I guess.
So MORE PEOPLE could see just exactly what kind of dishonorable person Cruz turned out to be. And that now reinforces that the others who AGREED to support the candidate , IN WRITING, and now have backed out, are the same.
I say, if the enemy wants to appear at your public event and shoot himself in the foot, let him. Get as many cameras on him as you can while he does it.
Hopefully someone will post a link to Cruz’s speech as I have to see how bad it was.
I didn’t get into the fights between Trump and Cruz supporters earlier this year but I preferred Cruz.....Until tonight.

You said it perfectly. Time for them to leave and never come back to sully the name of Free Republic. They don't belong here and if they have even the tiniest modicum of self-respect remaining after the 13 months of trash they've fouled FR with, they will leave for good.
