JTA - Donald Trump’s campaign for the presidency rolled out its Israel Advisory Committee last week -- no one noticed.
Blame the unrelenting news cycle, if you will: July 14 was the day of the hideous mass killing in Nice, France.
But also, his Israel Advisory Committee consists of exactly three Jews, including two who work for him.
Not much news here, move along.
Trump’s unusual campaign extends to its Jewish outreach, or rather his lack of Jewish outreach resembling anything that has come under that rubric in other campaigns.
Campaigns routinely distribute talking points to Jewish supporters and cultivate them as “validators,” folks who will appear on their behalf in the community and Jewish media making their case. But insiders say that Republican Jews who want to support Trump within their community have heard … crickets.
No talking points. No invitations to speak on his behalf to their communities. Calls by potential supporters and donors on behalf of daughters and nephews who want to volunteer go unreturned. (Like JTA's request to the Trump campaign for comment on this story.)
Tevi Troy, a deputy secretary of health under President George W. Bush and a formidable Jewish community validator for past Republican candidates, said no one has been in touch this year, but that may be because he’s not on any of the relevant lists. Troy had opposed Trump during the primaries, but once it became clear in May that Trump would be the nominee, he said he was open to persuasion.
“I don’t think they’re targeting messages specifically to the Jewish community,” he said.

One can see the Lord in Heaven, shaking His head “Good grief!” over this people He chose.
There actually seems to be a good reason for choosing such stubborn souls. If God can save and prosper them, then nobody else should have any excuse to despair. If you won’t let the Lord help you, it’s been demonstrated by example, not just by theory, that it’s your own fault and you chose to put your own self beyond help.
But to see it play out is angst-raising. Communism is a good example of an attempt to garner salvation through “the arm of flesh.” And Psalm 2 chuckles ruefully about how stupid that kind of thing is.
Trump will need the support of Jews in Florida and without winning Florida, Trump’s electoral college math becomes difficult.

They take advantage of the fact that it is easier to deceive people than to convince them that they have been deceived.
Admitting that one has been deceived is inherently humiliating. Some people lack the moral courage to face that humiliation; they would rather die.
Go up to some New York liberal Jew and tell him, “NPR and the NY Slimes have been lying to you for decades, making crap up out of thin air to keep you from seeing the truth. And no, you *weren’t* smart enough to catch them at it. It is necessary to your self-esteem to think that you would have caught them if they were lying, but you didn’t. They have made a fool of you for decades. Worse, the very people you despise, the bitter clingers, have been right all along. You’re the stupid one, not them.”
No matter how mildly you start, or how much consideration you show for their feelings, that’s where it ends up. And most people simply lack the moral courage to face it.

Maybe so. I haven’t had much contact with that culture for several decades.

All of my family -- conservative Jews all -- are supporting Trump. I believe there is a hidden groundswell of support for Trump among American Jews. But the media will never report this, and not one of us would ever answer a poll call.
Don't believe all of the nonsense in the media. Most of it is sheer propaganda.

They seem to have an unnatural attraction for people who want to do them in and great difficulty warming up to those who befriend them.

There comes a point where only grace can tell the story that needs to be told, “condescending” by human pride standards or not.
I’d tell the Jews don’t feel too bad. The very Christianesque Cruz couldn’t stand Trump either. The more intensely skin-deep a belief, the less you are going to be able to see in a person like Trump, with his checkered mortal history. How on earth can a fellow like this, who’s flirted with many a sinful thing, come around and come under God’s blessing and share it around? The answer is, only under heaven.

most Jews are pretty angry over Hussein Obama’s treatment; thing is they’re convinced Hillary is truly pro-Israel because Bill got on with Israel far better than Hussein, and want to deny that the party has become anti-Israel.
If Rubio were the nominee, this wouldn’t be an issue. He’d have been the first Republican to win the Jewish vote since Harding. The KKK controversy did hurt the cause of winning the Jewish vote. But Trump will still win anyway, and once the last of the Mohicans (not vehement Israel haters), the Clintons, leave the limelight, and Bolshevik Sanders’ wing takes over, Trump will win the Jewish vote for re-election.
