By most accounts, Melania Trump’s speech top the GOP Convention was a success – until charges flew that she had plagiarized a speech given by Michelle Obama to the 2008 Democratic National Convention. First noted on Twitter by Jarrett Hill, a small portion of Melania’s speech bore a strong resemblance to Michelle’s. Here is a side-by-side comparison:

You're kidding, right? I've heard, read and seen that phrase or its equivalent my entire life. I'm 66 years. I've used it for decades before Moochelle came along.
The denial on this thread is childish and revealing for people claiming to be fed up with years of fraud and hypocrisy.
It’s plagiarism, and it’s embarrassing, especially for an outfit that makes a big deal about doing everything in a first class way. Donald should be really steamed that Melania got set up this way.

Copyright infringement cases are won with evidence like this. I am stunned at the special pleading at FR, that “they do it too” and “she said Donald and not Barack, so it’s not plagiarism” are excuses.
The so-called right ring in this country seems to have no more integrity than the left. We are so done for.
This is a massive nothing-burger. Melania Trump is not running for elected office.
If the MSM can’t make a single peep regarding Ms. Clinton’s numerous and verifiable lies, why should I care if Melania Trump gave the exact same speech?
This is exactly how the media distracts the populace from anything of actual significance, and you’re adding to the “concern”.

The stench of denial is all over the place. Listen. I don’t give a flip about Melania. She didn’t do anything wrong except rely on what staff told her to do.
It matters because the Trump team evidently includes staffers still using the old template, selling the same old crap we hear from both parties. Trump has promised a clean sweep. He needs to deliver — in his own house first of all.
