Newt: It's a 'Betrayal' If Cruz Doesn't Endorse Trump During Convention Speech
Townhall.com (The publisher of the article) ^ | July 18, 2016 | Cortney O'Brien (The author who wrote the piece)

Newt Gingrich spoke with Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren live from Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena on Day One of the RNC convention Monday night. At the beginning of their conversation, they addressed the controversy around who is and who isn’t present at the convention as the Republican Party gets ready to crown Donald Trump their 2016 nominee.

At least one speaker, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), has yet to endorse the GOP nominee. Susteren asked Gingrich if he believed Trump’s former presidential opponent would finally announce his support for Trump during his speech Wednesday night.

“Well I hope he does” endorse him, Gingrich said.

If he doesn’t?

“I think it’ll be sad,” Gingrich said. “It’ll be a betrayal.”

Considering Cruz is getting ready to head back to the Senate, Gingrich argued it would be in Cruz’s best interests to be on Trump’s good side.

“He knows it’s helpful to Trump that he’s here,” he said. “At the same time, he’s going back to the Senate. This is a significant step in this direction."

As for Ohio Gov. John Kasich and his staff, who have refused to attend this week’s convention, Gingrich said they “seem to be in their own world.”

Part of the humor of the placard is that it was supposedly made by Homer Simpson. Not being a Rhodes scholar, he printed, ‘I’m a ass.’ I.e.: Homer revealing his grammatical deficiencies is funnier than if Homer produced a boringly perfect placard.

“lets wait and see what Cruz says.”

I don’t care what Ted says in his little speech. He’s already shown me his true colors, and they’re not mine, or America’s.

Get the hell out of here if all you can do is act like a 5th columnist against Trump on the first night of the RNC Convention.

Ain’t gonna happen but this is what I’d like to see:

Cruz: “Donald, I was an asshole. Please accept my apology”.

I don’t care what Ted says in his little speech.

Soooooo if Cruz comes out in support for Trump you will bite your lip and say that Cruz did the right thing? Or are you going to go on the kooky route and accuse him of plotting against Trump even then?

He won’t do it, Cruz is too prideful. I’ll bet $50 freepathon donation on it.

No, you are wrong. Conservatives are not liars and back-stabbers.

Examples please and from a reputable news source? And I mean serious examples.

“Cruz is a true conservative to the bone.”

LOL.

Voted for cloture on TPA.
Voted for the Corker amendment.
Married to Goldman-Sachs.
Failed to disclose campaign loans.
‘Poison Pill’ amendment to the Gang of Eight amnesty treason.
Blamed Trump for Chicago violence.
Iowa Caucus shenanigans.
Snake handler preacher act.
Glenn Beck.
Delegate theft.
BushCo connections.
Refusal to endorse our nominee.
Bums rides from Obama on AF1.
Neglected Senate duties after withdrawing from the race.
Wrote op-ed with Paul Ryan extolling TPP (spit..!)
Has not once condemned the NeverTrumpers.

Yeah, some conservative. Get outta here.

Has Cruz said anything to that effect?

Actions speak louder than words.

He voted for corker, for TPA, hired Neil SILVERADO Boosch for campaign staff, has a goldman sux-CFR GLOBALIST wife. Not enough? Do your own research.

“I don’t foresee myself voting for the Canadian again in 2018. I wonder if that is just me?”

It’s not just you. I voted for Ted in his Senate race, in the primary, the run-off, and the general. To date, he is the ONLY politician I have ever donated money to.

But after what I’ve seen of him in this primary, he’ll never get another vote or dollar from me.

Apparently you have not been paying attention and were too lazy to do a search, "Ted Cruz lies.". Regardless....

https://youtu.be/QuGRqvBg9Go And this. It was all over the news for days!

Cruz never challenged Trump for referring to him as, "Lyin' Ted" because he is a liar. No one like the guy except you and a few other people. He's hated in the Senate.

Cruz approved a campaign ad in NH that said “Trump made himself rich by using eminent domain.” In fact, Trump never made one penny from using eminent domain, much less billions. How was Cruz not lying?

Hey, do not forget who was working at CNN...’Oh, Mandy’!! When CNN was breaking the news. And Ted is now belly aching about all the neglect he received from the media whores.

“Soooooo if Cruz comes out in support for Trump you will bite your lip and say that Cruz did the right thing?”

No, I’m going to call him a liar, and would do so to his face.

Words are cheap for quisling globalist traitors like Cruz. They mean nothing, except when you catch them accidentally revealing their true character, as Cruz has done throughout the race. He’s a mean spirited narcissist, JUST LIKE OBAMA, who couldn’t care less about this nation, its founding principles, or its people.

He’s a Cubanadian wanna-be usurper who is only in it for power and his own self aggrandizement.

The fact that you haven’t yet figured this out, puts you in a camp far outside Free Republic.

I read on another forum that fox news reported that Ted Cruz will be on the nomination ballot at the convention.

Can they really do that?
