During a time when the Republican Partys presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, should be working to bring the party together and prepare for the primary battle against Hillary Clinton, he continues to deepen the divide between Republicans and Americans alike.
Trumps recent attack on U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel because of his Mexican-American background prompted Sen. Lindsey Graham to round up the Republicans who have previously endorsed Donald Trump, and persuade them to take it all back.
Graham claimed that Trumps racist remarks were the most un-American thing from a politician since Joe McCarthy.
If anybody was looking for an off-ramp, this is probably it, Graham told The New York Times.
Senator Graham elaborated on this during an interview with NBC News Hallie Jackson.
There are a lot of people who want to be loyal to the Republican Party, including me, he said. But therell come a point in time where were gonna have to understand that its not just about the 2016 race, its about the future of the party and I would like to support our nominee. I just cant.
Donald Trump claimed that Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over the Trump University case, has been biased toward him because of his Latino heritage.
I couldnt disagree more with a statement like that, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Sunday.
Those kinds of comments are very serious to me, Rep. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said to News radio WGAN. They are completely unacceptable, and what they indicate which is why I think this is so serious is a lack of respect for our judicial system and for the separation of powers doctrine that is enshrined in the Constitution.
Although many Republicans, including House Speaker Paul Ryan, have condemned Trumps accusations, they continue to support him.
I’m astonished! I thought she WAS a Democrap.
Who would know that Linseed was a Republican?Seems like he always supported the Dummycrat point of view.
If he departs,he won’t be missed.
Excellent!! That should discourage a lot of voters from supporting hillary. Those who don’t want things to change in DC are flocking to her.
Since Linda said this in early June, after Thursday when it becomes official that Trump is the nominee, he should sign the pledge or be thrown out of the party.
Like Ayotte, Graham has become infected Juan McCainism and is a turncoat.
May you be as well received as Arlene Sphincter.
Anybody know if he plans to convert to a heterosexual?
To both your points: Yeah I know. But it is a decent interpretation of his comments.
Pleeeeeze do you lame ass. Go...good riddance. You are IRRELEVANT! !!!
Zero chance of that.
Pffft! That’s like Elton John saying he’ll turn gay if Trump isn’t dumped...
Good, she needs to go.
South Carolina! Please! Take out the trash!
McCarthy wasn't wrong, IMHO!
Lindsey is transpartied.
“Hes ALWAYS been a DEMOCRAT!!”
Yep.
We had to suck it up, hold our noses, and vote for McCain and Romney. WE did it...now it’s YOUR turn Lindsey.
SECOND thread winner.
My head spins. First he’s on the Congressional committee to investigate Clinton’s affairs, helps to impeach him and now wants to vote for Hillary.
Only in Washington is this kind of uncentered, vacillating nature rewarded.
