President Obamas nostalgic speech in Springfield has local politicos wondering what he has planned after leaving the White House.
I miss you guys, Obama said during an address in the Illinois statehouse on the anniversary of his Presidential campaign announcement. He returned to his frequent theme of bringing civility and compromise to politics.
Next year Ill still hold the most important title of all, and thats the title of citizen. And as an American citizen, I understand that our progress is not inevitable our progress has never been inevitable. It must be fought for, and won by all of us, with the kind of patriotism that our fellow Illinoisan, Adlai Stevenson, once described not as a short, frenzied outburst of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime. Obama will only be 55 when he leaves office next year and clearly wants to do more than paint self portraits.
His visit included a trip down memory lane to his old Senate office and a campaign-style stop to a popular lunch spot, The Feed Store. Obama has previously said Bentohs was his favorite during legislative sessions, but like many local businesses, they were forced to leave downtown as attacks on the state workforce damage Springfields economy.
Current Governor Bruce Rauners failure to attempt anything that remotely resembling governing has Illinois residents eagerly looking forward to replacing him in 2018. Thats just enough time for Obama to get settled in a new house and open his Presidential Library before running for Governor.
Rauners unpopular budget hostage taking makes him unlikely to win a second term but you cant dismiss anyone willing to spend millions of his own dollars to fund a campaign. Perhaps only a former President can raise enough to match Rauners spending.

Mugabe won’t live much longer — there’s one possible job Obama could look into.
He should do it.
Illinois and Bath House deserve each other.
He wants to run a world organization, not Indiana or anywhere else.

I miss you guys.
He hasn’t shown any inclination to fix that. I don’t remember the last time he was in Illinois for more than a stop over. Has he ever stayed at his house?
Crappola.
Thia jug eared maggot only wants cushy jobs where everyony has to kiss his ass.
Illinois has multitudes pf problems most having to do with overspending and underfunding.
He will Not work that hard
Yes, at least once, in 2015, he spent a night in his Chicago house.
Obama might run for governor of Illinois. I wouldn’t bet, either way. In 2014, Rauner got about 50%. Sen. Durbin said that he might run for governor, but he wouldn’t run, if Obama runs.
