The University of Virginia (right), the location of the infamously fabricated gang-rape story printed in Rolling Stone last year, has found itself in the spotlight again thanks to another allegation of sexual assault - but this time the events surrounding the alleged rape are all too real. Sophomore volleyball player Haley Lind (left) believes she was raped at a UVA house party on August 22, 2015. The freshman athlete she was with swears it was all consensual. Both have been left distraught. And the UVA says there's just not enough evidence to do anything about it, The Washington Post reported.

Myanmar was once known as Burma
Now it’s Myanmar, do not call it Burma
Been a long time gone, place name of Burma
Now it’s Asian delight on a moonlit night
Every gal in once name of Burma
Lives in Myanmar, not a place called Burma
So if you’ve a date in that good old Burma
She’ll be waiting in Myanmar
Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can’t say
People just liked it better that way
Seems like they just found a new mattress bearer for a few more years? How convenient?
You sound like a fool.

A key that opens many locks is a master key.
A lock that’s opened by many keys is a poor lock.
I haven't heard that in about 45 years--thanks for the memory.
Heh, I first read it in a W.E.B. Griffin military novel about 20 years ago.
Very cute girl. Assuming she chose to get that drunk, which is what it appears happened, and assuming the reports of her kissing him a lot and going off alone with him were accurate, I don't see why it matters if she remembers agreeing to sex. There is no evidence of rape, and there is strong evidence of her being willing.
I'm glad the guy got off.
And the sluts out there are a lot younger than they used to be. Seen a few around here during my town’s weekly “family night”. The parents should be charged with child endangerment or negligence.
Joshawan Barack Smith .
That’s excellent. I think it is also far to subtle for the greater majority of our yutes.
The kicker is that women are the ones that coined that cliché.
Any female that “gives it up” too easily, lowers the amount of cash and prizes other women can extract from guys for the same.
Guys dont go around calling other guys “studs” or heroes. We hate that he CAN get so many females.
Those lines in a children’s book?
Well maybe today, it would be required reading for 2nd graders.
“I’m glad the guy got off.” Probably at least twice.
Are you implying that the young man had no fault here? It’s ok to strip a woman, screw her, and leave her in a heap onthe bathroom floor? I’d actually place more blame on the young man because if he was aware enough to get it up,he was aware enough to take care of her afterwards. This charming youth has a promising future for making those around him the feel special, loved and the center of his attention. You know, things that lead to a satisfying happy and long marrage partnership.
There is plenty of shame to own here on both sides.
Guys may be envious of other guys who are “studs” but there is admiration as well.
When horny young women stop getting drunk and going up to college boy's bedrooms to "make out". Unless this guy slipped something into her drink to render her unconscious, she shares responsibility for what happened.
And combined with the fact that she doesn't really even know if intercourse occurred, but just has a feeling that "something happened", there's no "there" there.
After all, the accusations may have been caused as much by shame over her stupid, self-imposed drunken behavior, as anything else.
Combined with university imposed indoctrination that "all males are potential rapists" and "college is a rape culture", and bingo, another fake rape accusation at UVA.
“I think its Myanmar now.”
It Will Always Be Burma To Me.
She BELIEVES, but she's not sure? Reasonable doubt = acquittal.
They won’t change if all they get is six months in jail
Not all men are as you describe but a good number are. I expect fathers to teach their sons better. If life is only about hitting it ( note the dehumanizations of ones supposed love partner), then men won’t ever change.
If life is about forming deep and meaningful relationships then there will be a change.
