Opened the door for other problems. There’s at least 4 sides in Turkey, one has been wounded but the one who wounded it is now busy, leaving themselves open. This will take a while to shake out.

This coup will succeed, and good for them.
There is little doubt that Erdogan was taking a large cut from the oil ISIS stole in Syria and Iraq and marketed in Turkey. The military probably has hard evidence and will soon display it to “justify” the coup. However there is also little doubt that the Generals themselves were receiving their own cut. The Military was also well aware that Erdogan was allowing recruits, money and supplies to flow freely through Turkey to ISIS until recently. There are no innocents in power in Turkey. Oh by the way American intelligence also reported these inconvenient facts to Obama long ago.
There are nuclear weapons in Turkey. Hopefully they’ll not fall into the wrong hands.
Everyone unfortunate to go under the treads will be people pâté.
