The Club for Growth, a conservative group that spent millions attacking Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary, on Friday lauded the businessman for choosing Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.
"Mike Pence would be an outstanding Vice-President, Club president David McIntosh said in a statement minutes after Trump tweeted that he was tapping Pence.
"The Club supported Mike Pences nomination as Republican Conference Chairman because we knew that he would be a strong voice for free markets and economic liberty among a House leadership team that was too prone to be weak on those issues. And todays news gives a similar hope that Mike Pence will be effective in pulling the Republican ticket toward economic conservatism and limited government.
My fear with Pence is that Trump's "enemies" like Ryan and this group are praising this pick. I still think he should have picked someone that bucked the establishment. This is an anti-establishment referendum election.

MSM flailing around today trying to get something to stick. So far nothing
I don’t like that one bit. Is Pence a globalist in sheep’s clothes?
:(
:(
His pro-TPP trade policy does not bode well.
His pro-TPP trade policy does not bode well.
Hope he is not making the mistake Reagan made with Bush.
VP means nothing unless he is elected president
He can help Trump with congress
Trump is no fool if you read his book..Get Tough America
“His pro-TPP trade policy does not bode well.”
It does if Trump wins.
These guys think they have an in with Pence. Or... Trump being his persuasive self, has and will sway Pence to think like him, which the Cheap-Labor-Express will find out some time later down the road to their consternation.
Conservatives who say Pence is a nice “balance” are in fact hiking Trump’s risk of assassination. Trump should have picked an equivalent alpha male hothead for VP as insurance to protect himself — not Pence. Or an extremist, like Rand Paul....
First Ryan, now the club that tried to club Trump.
These approvals only make me more sure Pence was picked to appease GOP-E and RINOs.
I still hear Pence is/was against Trump’s stance on stopping muzzie invasion of our country, and that he is for TPP. These are not small issues and I have not read or heard these things are not true about him.
I am underwhelmed and disappointed in this choice.
How about Col. Alan West? There were so many others to choose from. Pence seems as exciting as watching paint dry.
I hope I am wrong and he will be a good VP.
I will still crawl over broken glass to vote for Trump.
It keeps them out of our hair and not helping Hillary, then so much the better.
If Pence gets a big head, then dump him in 2020.
By that do you mean a new world order globalist or just a pro trade and immigration globalist?
Pence is pro free trade and he is not anti-immigration. But then that aligns him with Trump if not Trump’s rhetoric. Trump will make better trade deals and he will control immigration. He will not eliminate either. I don’t see that as much of a conflict with Pence.
“How about Col. Alan West? There were so many others to choose from. Pence seems as exciting as watching paint dry.”
It isnt a royal appointment, nor is a blow-off pick.
There aren’t many others to choose from, because not everyone wants this job, nor can they pass the background check.
Let’s pray Pence doesn’t turn out to be a globalist free traitor/open border dumbass like the CLUB for Growth really likes.
I agree. Ann Coulter has suggested they would try to impeach Trump. I worry about what you said that if the person isn’t like Trump or more “radical” (for lack of a better word) to the GOP than Trump, it makes me worry about that.
Dan Senor @dansenor
It's disorienting to have had commiserated w/someone re: Trump - about how he was unacceptable, & then to see that someone become Trump's VP

This means they were bashing Trump behind the scenes. Christie didn't do that. Sessions didn't do that. Huckabee or Santorum didn't do that.
Issues I have:
~Voted for Iraq War (taking an attack on Hillary away)
~Pro Free Trade
~Attacked Muslim ban
~Refused to say he supports the wall
~Endorsed Cruz
~Paul Ryan's friend
Good point.
