Pence strikes me as a boor and in all fairness I haven’t really spent too much time on him.

There are problems with all of them except Jeff Sessions, and he seems to be out of it. Newt was a big NAFTA supporter and a globalist while in the House, and he was throwing around a nutty amnesty scheme in 2012.
And I was surprised to learn that Christie is the youngest at 53. He could be a big asset if he's really on board with all the most important issues. I hope Trump is really pressing them to get with him on the critical issues.
