Newt Gingrich, a finalist on Donald Trump's vice presidential shortlist, flew to Indianapolis to meet with Trump on a private jet provided by Fox News host Sean Hannity, two sources with knowledge of the situation told CNN.
The Fox News host flew the former House speaker to Indianapolis early Wednesday morning to meet with the presumptive Republican nominee as he holds late-stage meetings with his VP finalists, the sources said...
Hannity, who has publicly backed Trump, said Tuesday night that he was backing Gingrich for VP. "I wouldn't be happy with anyone but Newt," he said on his Fox News show...

So?
That says to me its not Newt.
Trump would have paid the bill.
I support Newt as Chief of Staff as it is perfect for his knowledge base.
He knows where all the bodies are buried.
I guess if they can’t get a member of our irredeemably corrupt political class at the top of the ticket, they’ll try for the second slot.
Did Sean open his own wallet for this, or did fox pay for the plane on behalf or by request of Sean Hannity?
Newt is not VP material. He is too old, he has liberal leanings on race issues and is too quick to sell out. Best that he be a Chief of Staff or adviser. But not VP.
Pence is Mannequin man.
I still believe the VP will someone who is not on the short list.
I saw another report saying Jeff Sessions met with Trump in Indiana today.
Shaq is not on the short list.
“Can you dig ittttttttt”!
Sean is all in for Newt, lol.
I see the wisdom in this as Newt, whatever his failings, knows how to maneuver through Congress.
I support him or Christie although I didn’t vote for Christie in the last election. Did in the first.
It could be Trump telling Newt face to face that it’s not him. And Hannity is going to ask his accountant “How much did that cost me?”
Trump was expected to be back on Wednesday for the meeting but his own plane came down with mechanical trouble. So it was all a last minute scheduling madhouse. He says down to two in his mind, though, which could mean Christie or Pence.
Sean like Rush rents or owns private jets.
Interesting!
Not a Hannity fan but he hasn’t crossed a line. He doesn’t claim to be an impartial journalist. He’s a pundit.
Sean used to have on Newt, Rove, and Dick Morris at least once a week, so I didn’t like his radio show much.
Agree with everything Sean has said about Newt as to why our country needs Newt as VP. Both Trump and Newt get things done.
Go Newt!
Unfortunately, that’s the impression I get too. Pence = pensive. And not a whole lot else.
I don’t necessarily dislike Pence, but he has not said or done anything lately to get me excited about his presence.
If Trump says he wants a VP who will be a good ‘attack dog’, then Pence is not that man. I’ve never seen him break a sweat about, well, anything. I don’t see him being any more aggressive to the democrat attacks than Paul Ryan was to Joe Biden during that awful ‘debate’. Tom Cotton and Mike Huckabee both deserve a close consideration.

Did you think that Newt is going there as Chief of Staff to discuss Pence with Trump?
