On July 9, two days after the heinous ambush on Dallas police officers, citizens armed with AR-15s stood guard outside various police departments in Texas.
According to the Montgomery County Police Reporter, James Evans, Roger Tarrant, and Paul Wilson went to the Patton Village Police Department with their AR-15s in hand and stood guard. They also stood outside the City of Splendora Police Department (SPD), where passing drivers honked their horns in approval, while others stopped for photos, selfies, and to personally thank them for what they were doing.
In fact, the men garnered so much support in the form of food and bottled water that they began stacking the food on the hoods of their pickup trucks so well-wishers could see they already had more than they could handle.
Traffic outside SPD became so bad that the department used a Facebook post to urge drivers to keep moving. The post said:
Citizens of the City of Splendora, SPD is aware of the individuals in the front of city hall today. A SPD officer along with outside law enforcement agency officers have already made contact with them. They were not viewed commiting [sic] any criminal offenses. They were very cooperative and understanding when discussed of firearms safety. They showed no danger to any persons when we made contact with them. They are showing support for local law enforcement agencies which is appreciated in this hard time for the State of Texas and the country is going through. For the safety of drivers on roadway, we ask citizens driving by taking pictures to not stop in roadway due to it can cause a traffic hazard or wreck. Thank you to our great city and east Montgomery county for the positive support.

...........my all time, all time, favorite “writing”...........bar none!
And, hey, you lawyers out there, he was a lawyer!!
Do we have men like this anymore? I like to think we do! Tanto, Tig and the other guy (Tanto’s and Tig’s companion that night) come to mind!
The officers that threw themselves on top of the wounded lady in Dallas do too!
Note to BLM: These are the kind of guys you would face if the police were not there. You should avoid that scenario at all costs.
I was thinking the same thing. Let some thug drive by with a toy pistol stuck out the window and one of the guys opens fire. Guess who will be charged. The least I would want is to be legally deputized.
GOD BLESS TEXAS.
I’d love to move to Texas...too long in the tooth nowadays, but that kind of spirit is awe inspiring.
Thank you, gentlemen.
Interesting thing I learned at a training once: in a active shooting situation with both armed “good” civilians and armed “bad” civilians, shoot the ones that don’t have a holster or aren’t using a sling. Statistically speaking, good guys always use holsters and/or slings. Bad guys rarely, if ever, do.
I got a chuckle out of it at the time, but all this time later, I’ve never seen it disproven.
So, if I stepped out of a PD and saw these fellas, my first thought would be “sling, holster.... I wonder what I’m getting for lunch....”
Worship ?
God bless Texas.
Wouldn’t you be a bit worried about the one in the white tee shirt?
Your post is plum silly, comparing the downtown HPD office to Splendora.
Well done!
More effective than the guy who stood outside Tennessee military recruiting stations in armor and a sword because that’s all he was allowed to carry to protect people.
To each his own. I'm thinking cops are pretty capable of defending themselves.
It's all gewd till a weapon gets discharged.
Ha. Good point. Yeah.... he’s dangerous.
(Always an exception, I guess)
Those 3 are pretty underarmed. No tach vest with extra mags? No sidearms, Only carrying one long gun? Don’t see any K Bars. And not a frag between them.
But what world is this? The sheep now protect the sheep dog.
plus, I think he’s a ginger....he has no soul
I’ve said for a long time, if it comes down to a “gang war”, my money is on the guys wearing RealTree and Mossy Oak colors over the guys wearing the blue and red of the Crips and Bloods.
