Are you an Uber customer?

The company is forcing users of their service to take one minute and think about gun violence before booking a ride.

When users open the app they see a message that reads: “our hearts go out to the victims of this week’s terrible gun violence.”

“As we move around our cities this weekend, let’s take a moment to think about what we can do to help,” the message preached.

Maybe Uber should stop hiring crazed murderers, which they have been known to do. Obama does not want people to discriminate against felons though.

Both Uber and Lyft have had some creeps and murderers arrested. I then looked at City bus drivers and Taxi companies. The hiring of murderers and felons has been ongoing for decades in this line of work. Many, many, many drivers with horrific backgrounds.
Let’s face it. The only prerequisite you need to do these types of jobs is to have a drivers lisence. That’s it. It’s about as low end on the spectrum of jobs there is.

Let me think. If more honest, hardworking people carried guns, everyone would be a lot safer.

Quite some time ago, Uber issued an edict that neither their drivers nor their customers will be allowed to carry a firearm, even where it is legal to do so.

I’ve never used Uber and I never will.

No clue. I doubt if any of the Uber execs are going to be driving me anywhere... Actually, I wonder if they use their own service or do they call a limo service? Hmmm....

These despicable people stopped drivers from carrying after one used his legally carried gun to shoot a gunman who was attempting mass murder in Chicago last year.

"My one minute of thought about gun violence?"

Well, mine is that it is time for me to spring for this:

The days when a J-frame felt like enough are sliding away. Maybe I ought to thank Uber for giving me some extra time to think about it...

;>)

Signing up for Lyft is easier than Uber. Lyft has at least one new customer now.

But, wait, just a minute there, I’m pretty sure the reason we have off shoring and imports is because of greed and Chinese. Just hammer China and imports and we will thrive.

It’s not on my app either.
Love Uber!

Maybe it’s only used in liberal hell-holes?

I just opened my app and there was no message. ( thankfully, I was going to cancel my acct).
Maybe they got the message that it’s not a good idea to mix politics, cultural affairs with business.

Maybe they’re “targeting” the chicago area or some other high homicide rated area. Unless that’s where you are. Or maybe they’re using the “no fly, no buy, no ride” list. :)

If a company starts to guilt trip its customers, they will take the time to think about its rivals that don’t.

Starbucks got mocked pretty soundly for their white guilt campaign. I liked the one saying I don’t want to discuss these topics until AFTER I’ve had my morning coffee.

I’m debating a higher caliber AR-15 style gun. Already have a S&W 15-22, which is cheap and fun to shoot. But, at the end of the day, it is only a 22 caliber.
