Attorney General Loretta Lynch told law enforcement union leaders Friday that its unlikely the Justice Department will pursue hate crime charges in Thursdays Dallas shooting of police officers, Yahoo News has learned, because the suspect in the crime is dead.
Lynch told the leaders in the 45-minute meeting that a hate crime investigation would be on the table if more suspects are discovered, according to a police union official at the meeting. So far, investigators have said that evidence suggests the suspect, Micah Johnson, a 25-year-old Army veteran, acted alone. We continue to have faith that the attorney general is going to take this as far as it goes, the police union official said.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown said Friday morning the suspect in the murders of five police officers said he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers. The suspect told police he was not affiliated with any group and that he was upset by recent police shootings of black men. Police later killed him with a robot-operated bomb.
Leaders of the Fraternal Order of Police, which represents more than 300,000 police officers, pressed Lynch during the meeting to consider investigating the crime as a hate crime. They also shared their concerns about the tone of the racially charged debate around police-involved shootings.
The federal hate crimes statute applies to offenders targeting people based upon their actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national origin.

I don’t believe he acted alone for a minute.
lynch investigation the black panthers organization? they refuse to investigate the muslims and mosques in this country. They are all working against us
But, if he had been white, ...
Of course Solo killers can engage in hate crimes! But hate crimes are amplifiers on other crimes and we don’t prosecute the dead.
She “ruled” on the case even though she was not ‘judge’.
Just like she “ruled” on the Clinton email case when she publically said (Comey’s ears included) she’d “take the FBI’s word on indictment” - basically telling him to recommend “no-indict”. Just like she “ruled” on the case by surreptitiously meeting with the HUSBAND of the investigation’s TARGET!
“Attorney general: Hate crime charge unlikely if Dallas shooter acted alone”
Because, as we all know, it takes a village to hate...
"Discover" more suspects ?
Watch the airports .... if these uppities start taking vacations at the same time ... we are being challenged by an armed force and had better be prepared and ready.
Barbarians, the ignorantly superstitious, and flamboyant tyrants are the only people in history that prosecute the dead. We don’t need a hate-crime investigation to call the dead man a racist.
OK. Good point in comment #4.
The m’fer wanted to ‘’kill white people’’. No racial bias here , nope. If homey wants to keep playing this ‘’kill whitey’’ game it’s going to end badly for him since blacks only comprise some 13% of the total population. That means the other 87% aren’t black. Numbers matter.
Why not, they dig them to vote.
“Although I have no sympathy for the Attorney General, filing hate crime charges against a dead man would not be helpful,”

Unless it is one of those statistics that won’t be included in future databases of “hate” crime...
Dead men don’t hate. :)
I agree with you. Was it a Hate Crime? Of course. Opening up an official line of inquiry of a hate crime by a dead man would be nothing more than throwing a bone to those who know hate crime legislation was never intended to apply to all.
I have no interest in POS being used as a token used to pacify those of us who believe no one, no group, is above the law.
Yes, but they think all the rest of the minorities are with them, including hispanics. Which would put whitey in the minority. Over the past several months there have been reports of surging gun sales. You have to wonder who is it making up that “surge” that hadn’t been armed before. It isn’t “us”.
OK, no charge, Lynch gave her reason.
But, did she acknowledged that the act by the dead man is hate and racially motivated, at the very least?
Yes, but that didn't fit the narrative.
Yeah, justice has already been served, you can only kill him so dead, after all.
Or, they could have taken him alive at the cost of more dead police, interrogated him to find out why he committed very public mass murder, spent millions on a trial and kept him in prison for several decades while his lawyers appealed his conviction.
Besides, he was black, and Loretta Lynch and Obama believe that blacks don't commit hate crimes, and that black people cannot be racist because they're black.
Am I missing something? All day yesterday the news reported that one gunman was killed and two were in custody.......
I think they’re protecting the others who are rumored to be NOI.
If it all comes out it’ll blow their islam is a religion of peace nonsense and make even the DGIs start seeing the truth.
