Confirmed – Philando Castile Was an Armed Robbery Suspect
conservative treehouse ^

Posted on 07/08/2016 6:13:58 PM PDT by Pollard

The Falcon Heights, Minnesota police shooting of Philando Castile is based around an entirely false narrative. Castile and Ms. Diamond Reynolds (Facebook video uploader) were pulled over by police because Castile matched a BOLO Alert for an armed robbery suspect from four days prior.

Unfortunately, the false statements in the video – which have gone viral, and are being pushed by the mainstream media – have created a backlash against police officers.

And people are still defending the criminal and attacking the cops.

That's because the "evidence" that the suspect/victim was actually a criminal is extremely thin.

First thing one does is change appearance. I can groe a fair beard in 4 days. Not saying that it’s him, just sayin’.

No body cam, but there was a dashcam. At this point, it's difficult to guess what it might show, since the victim/suspect never got out of the car.

I haven't followed this story closely, but do you know if the police department issued any sort of statement at all as to what happened?

Did the dead guy have a CC permit as his “girlfriend” so loudly proclaimed? It should be a no-brainer for the LEO’s to figure that one out.

It would be, but in MN they aren't allowed to release that information.

The victim/suspect's mother has been quoted that both her son and daughter have CCW permits.

Most of the ‘bad shoots’ my police-officer friends recount involve the officer demanding license and registration, the victim moving to get the materials, and for some reason the officer not expecting them to reach into somewhere - like the officer being disconnected from what they are saying.

Sounds like incomplete training to me...with horrible consequences.

The organizers and their funders have plans and are poised to seize upon any incident and frame it to support a narrative.

KARE claims they did verify his CC permit thru Hennipen County.

Ah, good catch! Thanks, that answers one of the questions that have been asked.

Here's what the article says:

None of Castile’s charges or convictions involve guns, violence, threats against or fleeing police. Since he didn’t have any felony convictions, he was eligible to apply for a permit to carry a weapon. Sources confirm that Castile had received a valid permit in Hennepin County.

The shooting was in Ramsey County. But, Castile lived in Hennepin County at some point, and apparently got the permit then. It remains valid throughout MN until renewed.

I didn’t see it downthread until after I replied to you.

A local TV station has reported that they confirmed the victim had a CCW permit issued in Hennepin County.

Not a CCW type gun and the county sheriff said he had never applied for a CCW permit.

That was the county where the shooting occurred (Ramsey). A local TV station has since confirmed that Castile had a CCW permit issued in Hennepin County.

He was a convicted criminal and ineligible to own a gun, much less have a CCW.

There is a post form the Ramsey County Sheriffs office that the guy never applied for a CCW and thus could not have one so the claim that he was reaching for his CCW permit to show the officer is a lie.

The video by his girl friend shows he did have a gun out the same right thigh he was supposedly reaching for CCW from which was partially concealed by his shirt.

The gun in question is a very distinctive one with a round receiver that looks like a Stevens 22 pistol. This gun is uncommon and yet the gun the police officer saw Castile reaching for in the car looks like the same gun used in the Circle K robbery by the guy who looks just like Castile

So we have a guy who looks just like an armed robber who had robbed a circle k a few days earlier and who is reaching for the same very distinctive shaped and uncommon pistol that the robber used in the robbery while telling the police officer he is reaching for a non existent CCW permit that he did not nor ever has possessed.

I think the officer was justified and we have been played on this one. The calm, detached and emotionless demeanor of the girlfriend while filming tends to support this.

The facts support Castile reaching for his pistol to shoot the officer to avoid being arrested for armed robbery. Since it seems Castile was carrying the pistol used in the robbery, conviction would have been open and shut case

Not that I know of. They have turned it over to a state agency for investigation.

I think it would be the latter so as not to spook a possible suspect.

You racist, you should have stayed with 'spoke'. ;)

It smelled from the beginning.

Only started filming after the shots? Right. What did the perp do before the little camera started? What do you not want us to see because it doesn’t fit the narrative?

Then, who the hell sits there calmly filming their boyfriend dying and do on the spot narratives? Really? It plays like a bad movie or a clumsy set up.

Which it was.

Record. Gang history. Looks a lot like a guy who robbed a store nearby. Illegal gun.

Hello.

No, he wasn't. He had many traffic infractions, but nothing serious.

And, if you had done your homework, you would have known that Castile lived in Hennepin County at one point. In MN, you apply at the local sheriff's office.

A local TV station has inquired, and confirmed that Hennepin County issued a CCW permit to Castile:

None of Castile’s charges or convictions involve guns, violence, threats against or fleeing police. Since he didn’t have any felony convictions, he was eligible to apply for a permit to carry a weapon. Sources confirm that Castile had received a valid permit in Hennepin County.

Oh, darn. It seems I was wrong and that they have uncovered a CCW for Castile.

Seems he was only convicted of multiple, non felony criminal charges and was thus legal to won and carry.

My bad. So Sorry

Everything else seems factual.

The TV station was wrong: “According to a question presented to the local county sheriff who oversees the Concealed Carry Permit process, Mr. Castile had never requested a concealed carry permit from their office”

I still think the LEO was a bit trigger happy...

Years ago when going through a shoot, no shoot video reaction drill, my buddy said he would always error on the side of shoot and face the music, rather than lying dead in some morgue the morning after. These are the cold hard facts of life and death decisions officers face every day. Here an armed robbery suspect had a handgun at the ready on his thigh. It does not matter an iota whether he was in fact the armed robber of the convenience store. He fit the description and was every bit as dangerous.

Record.

Of minor traffic offenses. Two arrests for marijuana possession, both dismissed.

Passed a background check and worked for St. Paul public schools for over a decade.

Gang history.

Where? How does a 33-year-old gang member manage to avoid even an arrest for a serious crime since he turned 18?

Looks a lot like a guy who robbed a store nearby.

By virtue that he has a "wide nose". Yes, I see the resemblance, but I don't see any distinguishing characteristics.

Illegal gun.

Why would he be carrying an illegal gun when he holds a CCW permit?

Sources confirm that Castile had received a valid permit in Hennepin County.
