DEVELOPING: The State Department is reopening an internal investigation of possible mishandling of classified information by Hillary Clinton and top aides.

Spokesman John Kirby says the emails probe is restarting now that the Justice Department isn't pursuing a criminal prosecution. The State Department suspended its review in April to avoid interfering with the FBI's inquiry.

Kirby set no deadline for the investigation's completion.

Prediction: State will echo Comey’s conclusions and issue a finding of ill advised but not criminal. Then quietly tighten regs and enforcement, meaning a full time Inspector General.

The State Department had been stalling, fighting, lying and everything else they can to obstruct justice in the whole Clinton affair. I seriously doubt they have suddenly morphed into honest, apolitical people.

They know they can't put the toothpaste back into the tube, so they want to sweep it under the rug by pretending to be the honest "keepers" of all ongoing investigations from now on.
