Roger Ailes Fires Back at Gretchen Carlson's "Defamatory" Lawsuit as Fox Launches Internal Investigation
The Fox News chairman issued this statement in response to the lawsuit Wednesday afternoon: "Gretchen Carlson's allegations are false. This is a retaliatory suit for the network's decision not to renew her contract, which was due to the fact that her disappointingly low ratings were dragging down the afternoon lineup. When Fox News did not commence any negotiations to renew her contract, Ms. Carlson became aware that her career with the network was likely over and conveniently began to pursue a lawsuit. Ironically, FOX News provided her with more on-air opportunities over her 11 year tenure than any other employer in the industry, for which she thanked me in her recent book. This defamatory lawsuit is not only offensive, it is wholly without merit and will be defended vigorously..."
Meanwhile parent company 21st Century Fox announced it's looking into the allegations against the CEO and Carlson's former Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy. (Doocy is not a defendant in the suit.) "The Company has seen the allegations against Mr. Ailes and Mr. Doocy. We take these matters seriously. While we have full confidence in Mr. Ailes and Mr. Doocy, who have served the company brilliantly for over two decades, we have commenced an internal review of the matter..."

If I were in Ailes position at Fox, I’d have a recording device in the office to collect all conversations conducted there. And, he may have, and, he may be able to produce any conversation he’s ever had with Carlson. If she lied the case would be easily defended against and Ms. Carlson’s news career would be over.
The very first day she was on as hostess on F&F she had a tiff with Brian.
The topic was illegal immigration. Brian has just read some figures about the number of illegals here.
Carlson spoke up and said ‘there aren’t that many, there are only about 400,000.’
Brian laughed and said ‘I have the figures right here.’
She refused to look at the figures and said, under her breath, ‘there aren’t that many here.’
And they went to a break.
Kilmeade was obviously making a joke but Gretchen was too much of a tighta__ to get it.
I stopped watching her soon after she started walking backwards at the beginning of the show. Any moron knows not to walk backwards unless you have no choice.
Even when I watched Fox News, I didn’t watch Fox & Friends. They seemed goofy, and I didn’t find Gretchen to be attractive.
11. On or about September 3, 2009, Carlson complained to her supervisor that one of her co-hosts on Fox Friends, Steve Doocy, had created a hostile work environment by regularly treating her in a sexist and condescending way, including by putting his hand on her and pulling down her arm to shush her during a live telecast.
12. Doocy engaged in a pattern and practice of severe and pervasive sexual harassment of Carlson, including, but not limited to, mocking her during commercial breaks, shunning her off air, refusing to engage with her on air, belittling her contributions to the show, and generally attempting to put her in her place by refusing to accept and treat her as an intelligent and insightful female journalist rather than a blond female prop.
I still watch F&F. Brian Kilmeade is my favorite.
Would still like to see her naked.
LOL. Okay Gretch, then quit bleaching the mop top and go with dingy brunette instead?
I’ve been surprised by Gretchen three times:
1. When I learned she had been a Miss America.
2. When I read that she thought she deserved her own show (I thought she was lucky to be on a prominent show).
3. When she got her own show.
I don’t find Doocy attractive but that isn’t why I don’t watch Fox and Friends.
Tis, but I still like Martha. I hate Colbert.
Hell hath no fury like an aging beauty queen scorned.
Dear Roger...NOW get rid of Mr. Mascara Sheppie....he is AWFUL...UNWATCHABLE!!!
You’ll see her on CNN soon just like that other 2 that went there
But she was a beauty contestant.
Doocy reminds me of Doogie Howser.
GO STEVE DOOCEY!!!! The GRETCH is AWFUL!!! She was UNWATCHABLE, and Ainsley Earhardt isn;tmuch better.....bring on Anna Kooiman!!
SMH...Sounds like the kind of comments that were made here about Bill Cosby, before it became painfully obvious that the women were telling the truth.
Get real.
