Sessions reminds me of my grandfather. Nice guy, like an old shoe. Doesn’t inspire. I think you need an attack dog as VP. I say Newt, Christie... if not those two then go for a dark horse like Ernst... but then again, I like Paul Lepage.

Very good analysis. Trump needs a true and Constitution-loving successor, not a compromise candidate the GOPe likes -- or somebody to help him win a specific State.

A businessman is perfectly capable -- indeed preferred given the vast corruption that exists today in the political class.

I wish Trump could put Nigel Farage of Brexit fame to the VP, but alas he's a native born Brit. But he's absolutely the kind of patriot business man we need.

I was done finished with supporting Rand Paul when he picked Mitch McTurdle Mcconnell over his primary opponent.

We are still stuck with Rino Mitch

"He’ll have eight years to figure out what he needs to know about the job. Also, a wealthy person, like Washington, Reagan, and Trump, would be less tempted to cash in on political expediency because he is already wealthy."

If I was going with a Non-Washington insider who would I pick? Well he is wealthy now, and IMHO by default he would help you carry Michigan, and possibly Indiana and Ohio as they produce a lot of Auto related parts. A lot of good will built up turning Ford around, you guessed it Alan Mulally. Talk about a cost cutter and getting into the bowels of things to change the culture of Washington, that is what Mulally did, he changed the Culture of Ford 1st.

Well said, HL27. Let Trump be Trump. He can probably pick a better man or woman than all of us.

I totally trust Trump to pick the VP that is right for him. I don’t have the information he has, I don’t know what he wants or expects or if deals are necessary.

Wouldn’t be voting for him if I didn’t trust his judgment to do what is best for the country.

Thank you. He has been a Fav of my for a long time. He has said no interest in politics, however someone who couldn’t go forward as an astronaut because of eye or color blindness might have the “right stuff” for VP especially with his track record...

Both Newt and Christie are massive piles of liability. Their negatives are sky-high which rules both out.

Ernst is not seasoned enough and I sense a distinct Manchurian flavor about her.

“I gave Ernst money, and that was because she was a Tea Party person. Not true, she is establishment.”

TEA Party also went establishment. Conservatism is dying on the vine. Within 4 years we will all be criminals.
