The King County Council, just like the Thurston County Commission is considering a septic tax program to be imposed on all properties who have a septic system in King County. Local residents are calling it the turd tax or the toilet tax. In Thurston County they are calling it the Crap Tax. In effect, this will turn septic systems into a utility tax for the local county government, and will serve as a type of cash windfall for the county government to squander. The taxed residents get little in return for the taxes they waste on this program.

I know of a couple of cases where people got credit back for sewage after water pipes bursting. They still had to pay for the water coming in, but the water never went into the sewer, so they got about half their money back for the month.
Building codes most likely mandate you either are on city sewer or have an approved septic system. They set it up so you cant evade it.
So if you have a private well and septic they can tax both. Because both have to be approved and regulated sothey then can tax them.
Oh that is coming.
You can see wind generators being taxed too.
A crappy way to go.. Sewer politics
Perhaps we misread the proposal. Maybe it’s a shiite tax ... worth consideration to cover the mounting costs of public safety as our borders remain open.
If you grow a tree I’ll tax the sap
If you take a dump I’ll tax your crap
I got two years worth of “Sewage” credit at close to 75% of what I had been billed.
Texas, or at least my little corner of it, has a county mandate to have an inspection contract on my septic tank. I get the privilege of paying someone a couple hundred bucks a year to “inspect” my aerobic septic system. However, it does not cover the cost of ANY repairs; pumping out any solids; or parts when/if something breaks.
I’ve had to have the thing pumped out twice in 13 years, and replaced the sprinkler heads once, so far.
Total waste of money - the inspection, that is.
Ronald Reagan Quote: Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Turd tax, huh? Will they take it in trade?
So, what do they do in Moslem countries, put a cross on the outhouse door? Or is the crescent moon an international symbol?
She can be the official Couric Counter.
You mean by taxing flushing the toilet in the name of water conservation or just levying a tax on the number of toilets?
No surprise there.
Did you hear some whack job is suggesting levying payroll taxes on robots?
Bobby Kennedy as attorney general suggested declaring water in bathrooms to be part of the nation’s “navigable waters” and therefore give the Federal government authority to order desegregated facilities.
This would more call for the old flaming paper bag of poo letter on the front porch gag.
You know, I REALLY let King County have it at one point in my Transformers FanFic The a Hall of Dead Gods ... Maybe I should write another chapter?
Lawless Arbitrary government loving scumbags in the DNC ... it’s truly their one and only grand tradition since FDR kicked the Constitution to the curb.
One of the questions on the American Community Survey was, what kind of toilet facilities do you have—municipal, septic, or outhouse.
I figured this line of government snooping had some kind of ulterior motive behind it. Now here it is—a tax on septic systems.
It’s also another excuse for the gubbermint to come on your property to conduct an inspection.
I think that if I got a bill for my crap, I would take the bill, put in an envelope with my check and flush it.
Manure.
