In May, under pressure from the news media, Donald Trump made good on a pledge he made four months earlier: He gave $1 million to a nonprofit group helping veterans families.
Before that, however, when was the last time that Trump gave any of his own money to a charity?
If Trump stands by his promises, such donations should be occurring all the time. In the past 15 years, Trump has promised to donate earnings from a wide variety of his money-making enterprises: The Apprentice. Trump Vodka. Trump University. A book. Another book. If he honored all those pledges, Trumps gifts to charity would have topped $8.5 million.

I’m starting to get the impression the Washington Post is biased against Donald Trump.
Good point! Thanks for bringing that up!
2 yrs back he gave $25K to vet who was stuck in Mexico.
The vet would not be considered a recognized charity more than likely.
They would also probably state he did not pay the gift tax and therefore is a tax evader.
If they have not stooped to this level, it shows those 20 reporters the compost put on him are probably becoming disparate. Next up, they will examine the trash from one of the aircraft and say he is not buying domestic products.
I would only caution that if he claimed he made the contributions and didn’t, then there is an integrity issue. Otherwise I don’t care either.
I’d be more concerned of the “integrity issue” of telling families of slain Americans that their sons and husbands were killed as a result of a “video”, rather than a pro-Islamic sentiment, incompetence, and pure military and security neglect.
Not whether or not the Make a Wish foundation got a $5000 check.
Yes, there are documented examples of Trump donating to individuals—which of course wouldn’t count as charitable giving.
Also, both he and his son Eric have foundations that together have given away tens of millions of dollars:
He’s a REAL ESTATE man who has given 10s of Millions worth of land and accommodations to poor charity recipients like the State of NY!
And I guess 2 Million he has given his charity foundation and the millions it has given out to LIEbs = $10,000 and Chump Change!
Bezos, Trump war continues, my money is on Trump.
Integrity is integrity. Certainly, it can be rationalized. But if I lie about what I gave here or there, it certainly wouldn’t be hard to blame something on a video.
The crooks in the media only count charity that is deemed deductible by the IRS, like when the Clintons donated their underwear. They don’t count all the times Trump helped people directly that he can’t deduct on his taxes.
If Trump set up a crooked foundation like the Clintons he wouldn’t have this problem.
Trash propagandists writing their speculations as facts again. Disgusting people.
Ummmmmmmmm, David - taste the nectar flowing from the rest of your fellows in the Centipede.
It's a "possible", boys! Move those mounds of Clinton toxic waste so's we can get a better look at it!
If these media morons spent an equal time investigating Ole Screech (Hillary) they would have enough fodder to last them twenty years.
I even had a liberal at the time said that the IRS deduction was OK and the used undies were worth more because he was a sitting governor!
And the million to the Vietnam vets in the 80s, plus the Vietnam Memorial in NY; those don't count, either. How about his expenses getting Sgt Tamoreesi out of the Mexican prison? Did they count that? And flying the Gulf War vets home when the gubmit failed to do so? Did they count paying off the mortgage on the family farm of that woman in Georgia whose husband committed suicide when the bank foreclosed?
The Compost won’t ever get back into press conferences with hit pieces like this. They should learn how to play nice with others.
