He said that "the British people have voted to leave the EU and their will must be respected... the will of the British people is an instruction which must be delivered."
"There can be no doubt about the result."
Cameron gave no timetable for his departure, but said that he wanted a new leader to be in place by October when his Conservative Party holds its annual conference.
Boris Johnson, a former London mayor who campaigned for the UK's departure from the EU, is tipped by bookmakers as Cameron's likely successor.
Johnson, who was greeted by a booing crowd when he left his home on Friday morning, thanked voters for their decision, pledged that the UK would remain committed to Europe and urged unity.
"I think the electorate have searched in their hearts and answered as honestly as they can," he said. "They have decided to vote to take back control from a European Union that has become too remote."

Got to be careful on this - it may not be over. The legal websites are already buzzing about how this vote was not “legally binding”, that it could be “undone”, etc. The monstrosity known as the European Union has already done re-votes before and ignored other votes when it didn’t like the results. There is precedent for this: Lenin promised a vote for the Duma when he seized power. The Bolsheviks lost, so they invalidated the results and never had another honest election.
I must have missed his comments on Trump.
Btw, as much as I would hate it a bit, I also think a PM Boris will be more “Presidential”.
We have reached Peak Social Justice.
Ten years from now homosexuals are going to be so far back in the closet you will swear they don’t exist anymore.
So long, David - goodbye.....
“the British people have voted to leave the EU and their will must be respected... the will of the British people is an instruction which must be delivered.”
You will never hear a similar sentence uttered by a member of the Washington ruling class.
Good. Another one of Obama’s lackey’s gets the boot, but like an Obama, he’ll go kicking and screaming...
Now I remember.
Boris denied there were no go areas in London.
Lie.
Yeah, not good.
Around midnight, Stuart Varney (who is thrilled with the BREXIT result) had an English lady on who was a BREXIT supporter - someone he knows. She said that the polls turned around ... from “remain” to “leave” the day after Obama insulted the British people with his “back of the queue” threat. The Brits didn’t like being lectured by Obama in his usual arrogant, professorial way, they didn’t like the threat and since he used the word ‘queue’ rather than the American ‘line’, they felt Cameron had fed that phrasing to Obama. Major backfire. As someone on the big BREXIT thread said last night, Obama got two black eyes yesterday (I’m restraining myself here from making a remark that would be considered racist by the Libs/Dems/Progs): BREXIT & the failure of his immigration ‘plan’.
Also a poet of some note.
If only it bwere that easy here...
There was a young fellow from Ankara
Who was a terrific wankerer
Till he sowed his wild oats With the help of a goat
But he didnt even stop to thankera.
... aha ha. Make this man PM :D
In the words of Eliza Doolittle-
“We can do bloody well without you.”
Well we know the current muzz mayor of London town does have a hate on for the Donald.
He also said he almost threw up and when someone in NYC mistook him for Trump. Boris is a big mouth and he’ll have to go a long way for me to change my mind.
“You will never hear a similar sentence uttered by a member of the Washington ruling class.”
Well said,
Here ‘nuanced’ has become elevated to an art form for the unaccountable lawless reprobates in congress,
Maybe Bob Geldof will be inspired to write another song,
“I dont like Thursdays”
LOL! I loved the back story of queue/line! That’s a tell as Ricky Jay might say. Of course, the provincial Obama didn’t know the British phraseology. He has no interest in English history, common law or British culture.
Cameron and Obama blundered big time but happily Cameron has lost his job. Here in the USA, no one ever loses a job unless they’re kicked upstairs.
Stuart Varney suggested Boris Johnson, in the wee hours, this morning.
