Federal Judge Throws Out Clevelands GOP Convention Security Plan Byron Tau June 23, 2016 1:37 p.m. ET
CLEVELANDA federal judge on Thursday struck down the city of Clevelands rules limiting protests during next months Republican National Convention, finding the citys strict security regulations violated the U.S. Constitution.
U.S. District Court Judge James Gwin ruled the citys establishment of a large zone around the July convention site within which protesters ability to demonstrate would be strictly limited contravened the Constitutions guarantees of the freedom of speech and assembly.
Under the First Amendment, I do find that the city hasn't sufficiently, narrowly drawn the regulations to serve government interests, Judge Gwin told attorneys at the conclusion of the two-hour hearing.
He said he would follow with a formal ruling. Lawyers for the city indicated that they were considering an appeal.

The 1st amendment isn't about the government's right to free speech. It's about ours.
I Agree! The time is approaching [already passed?] when judges will have to be removed from office... peacefully by impeachment hopefully. I remeber that such an enclosed large protest area was just fine for the anti-Wall-Street crowd.
I tried to get the word out about the Fla Sup Ct judges up for a yes-or-no vote in the last state election - the same judges that defied the SCOTUS in 2000 and tried to name Al Bore Prez... now they have redistricted Fla into a Democrap state, outlawed the death penalty and now they say that police cannot test impaired drivers for DUI! We had the opportunity to remove these tyrants from our state court and we FAILED!... Can citizens actually govern themselves?
There you go!
No surprise
They want as much caos as possible to draw away from Trump and his exposures of the left and their lies.
Excellent point which will go over the corrupt heads of elites.
