Can I ask what you find objectionable about Martha McSally?
Ditto.
I enjoyed your assessment, and agree.
Guy called into a local radio show today and suggested that Trump might want to choose Rand Paul because this might add Paul supporters to the people who would vote for Trump. He said it is the only person he could think of who could actually draw/add voters to the ticket who might otherwise go elsewhere, like to Johnson. Not sure what I think about this, but even if you aren’t a Paul supporter, what do you think about the potential additive effect?
I read and watch news and politics all the time, too much. And lots of US and overseas sources. But beyond recognizing her name, I have no real clue who Martha McSally is. And I bet 99.9% of Americans probably wouldn’t even recognize her name. Not helpful to Trump, no different than McCain picking Palin.
Yes on Cotton, Sessions, Blackburn
Half of these 20 have already said No.
Needs experience working w Congress.
Needs name recognition.
Military casts Foreign involvement pal.
Forget the age factor, we need sober experience to offset Trump’s wandering mind.
Newt is the only choice.
I like Pawlenty but just don’t see him as benefiting Trump. This VP pick is being billed to be the biggest news event of the summer.
It’s gonna be a woman.
Hell no to # 11, that gun-grabbing idiot Stanley McChrystal.
He recently teamed up with Mark Kelly and David Petraeus to form a “gun control” group.
In addition, I saw McChrystal on CBS Sunday Morning a year ago. He prattled on about how “assault weapons” (i.e. semi-automatic rifles) are weapons of war, they should be banned, etc. No thanks.
As for Tom Cotton of Arkansas, he was at that “What should we do about Trump?” conference at Sea Island, Georgia a few months ago. In addition, he was at Romney’s “let’s cry in our beer about Trump” summit in Park City, Utah a few weeks ago. I can’t see Trump picking a closet #NeverTrumper for his VP.
forget all this. I dont know how to post a thread but Michael Jackson had violent porn and child porn at his ranch. And some sick animal stuff apparently.
I guess he was guilty.
Sorry for the interruption.
a list this long tells us almost nothing
Who voted against that bill?
Sure. McSally is the most left-wing RINO in the AZ delegation. She scored a 58% Conservative rating in 2015, her first year in office. This placed her to the LEFT of McQueeg (67%). When her name pops up here at FR in articles, it is always critical of her lousy voting record and establishment credentials.
If you want the best member of the AZ delegation, that would be David Schweikert, who has a 100% rating from the ACU in 2015 (and 99% lifetime rating for his 5 years in Congress, a member of the Tea Party Class of 2010).
Huckster was an utter fiasco as Governor. Destroyed the AR GOP, crammed it with his RINO flunkies, militantly open borders to appease Tyson Foods and notoriously pro-criminal.
Thank you. I’m always amazed when these lists pop up how often they’re chock full of truly rotten choices (which a quick check of their voting records can confirm). DC is utterly dysfunctional, so why would we want someone as VP who is a part of the problem ?
Pawlenty is a very weak choice who only won his Governor’s races by an unimpressive plurality (and had the DFL Lt Gov not made a serious verbal gaffe in 2006, he would’ve gone down after a single term). He wouldn’t put MN in play, which has the record for state with the longest Dem voting streak for President (44 years).
Thank you for enlightening us on his record. “Hell, no” to McChrystal it is.
Other than Palin, that would bump Marsha Blackburn to the top of consideration. She’s in an adjacent district to mine here in TN. The only downside is that she’s in her mid 60s.
