David Beckham endorsed the Remain campaign today, telling voters to support staying in the EU 'for our children'.
The England footballing hero said Britain should be facing the challenges of the world together with its allies.
Beckham recalled how he and other British-born players at Manchester United were good enough to be successful alone but were a 'better and more successful team' because of European additions such as Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and Peter Schmeichel.

As an aside, the idea that sportball players are "the best people," making a real contribution to the host society, is sheer nonsense.
Spoke with a Brit at work who just got back from the UK after a 2 week vacation there. He said the majority of people he talked with wanted out of the EU, but he thought the business and elites would make it so close that likely they would stay in.
I have predicted a “remain” vote since day one, the British people have to much of an ingrained “subject” mentality to go against the wishes of authority, any with a genetic predisposition for freedom and self determination left for the colonies centuries ago. I believed they would make some noise, but in the end as soon as the globalists started parading the litany of supposed economic horror’s that would occur if Britain left the UK, they would all come crawling back like good little subjects and end up voting “remain” by a comfortable margin. If the latest polls are any indication, that’s exactly how it appears to be shaking out.
Nothing beats objective analysis.

Here’s how analogies work. He was talking about a sports team and the best in a sport does make a rea contribution to a sports team. I expanded that to include the entire population and I was talking about the “best” in the whole population. So, when a person is talking about how diversity is our greatest strength, they point to a minority lawyer or surgeon, not the ghetto rats who outnumber the lawyers and surgeons 1000:1. My point was that when you talk about the greatness of Multi-cult, you need to look at the entire population and not the cream of the crop.

Regarding immigrants particularly: During the primary season, Andrew Wilkow had an immigration analyst on his radio program a couple of times. The man said that their studies showed that the education level of an immigrant - not country of origin or legal status - was the key factor in whether he was an economic gain or loss to the destination country.
