David Beckham endorsed the Remain campaign today, telling voters to support staying in the EU 'for our children'.
The England footballing hero said Britain should be facing the challenges of the world together with its allies.
Beckham recalled how he and other British-born players at Manchester United were good enough to be successful alone but were a 'better and more successful team' because of European additions such as Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and Peter Schmeichel.

As an aside, the idea that sportball players are "the best people," making a real contribution to the host society, is sheer nonsense.
Spoke with a Brit at work who just got back from the UK after a 2 week vacation there. He said the majority of people he talked with wanted out of the EU, but he thought the business and elites would make it so close that likely they would stay in.
I have predicted a “remain” vote since day one, the British people have to much of an ingrained “subject” mentality to go against the wishes of authority, any with a genetic predisposition for freedom and self determination left for the colonies centuries ago. I believed they would make some noise, but in the end as soon as the globalists started parading the litany of supposed economic horror’s that would occur if Britain left the UK, they would all come crawling back like good little subjects and end up voting “remain” by a comfortable margin. If the latest polls are any indication, that’s exactly how it appears to be shaking out.
Nothing beats objective analysis.
Did the IMF foresee the economic turbulence extant in Europe today, and if they did, why did the EU not stave it off?
Among the most inspiring experiences of my time in politics was meeting people who, in spite of great pressure to the contrary, chose to be British.Read the rest of the article at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/09/leaving-the-eu-would-be-disastrous-for-the-falklands-gibraltar-a/
If you were born in Yorkshire, like me, being British is effortless. While we still cast suspicious glances at our Lancastrian neighbours, these days that is only for the sake of ribbing them: we do not fear that any outside force will threaten our identity and loyalty.
But if your native land is Gibraltar, the Falkland Islands, or Northern Ireland, your right to remain British requires a vigilance, a resolve, and sometimes the exertion of an effort that has come recently to Scotland and is still unfamiliar to most of us in England and Wales
..Whenever Gibraltarians or Falkland Islanders have expressed a collective opinion, they have recorded 99 per cent majorities for the sovereignty of the UK. Faced respectively with border closures and foreign invasion, they have come through them with stoic determination. In return, Britain has expended precious blood or huge diplomatic capital in their defence.
...I lost count of the number of times I had to complain to a Spanish Foreign Minister about intrusions into the waters of Gibraltar, or unnecessary delays being caused at a border crossed every day by thousands of people going about their business. On most of these occasions, my trump card was that both Britain and Spain are members of the European Union, even to the point of calling in Commission officials from Brussels to insist that the freedom to cross the border be maintained.
If the UK leaves the EU, Gibraltar leaves with it, and the economic impact on its people, particularly the damage done to its financial services industry, would be very serious. For Spain, the legal constraints on a more hostile approach would be lifted, potentially leading to severe disruption of trade and workers at the border, or even a return to the past policy of a total land blockade. Small wonder that the Chief Minister of Gibraltar has said that a British exit could have disastrous consequences for the people on the Rock.
.Seven thousand miles further south, the Falkland Islands Government uses similar language. Their representative has said that Britain leaving the EU could be catastrophic for them because nearly three-quarters of their exports go to the EU market, while they are shut out of most of South America by Argentine pressure.

Here’s how analogies work. He was talking about a sports team and the best in a sport does make a rea contribution to a sports team. I expanded that to include the entire population and I was talking about the “best” in the whole population. So, when a person is talking about how diversity is our greatest strength, they point to a minority lawyer or surgeon, not the ghetto rats who outnumber the lawyers and surgeons 1000:1. My point was that when you talk about the greatness of Multi-cult, you need to look at the entire population and not the cream of the crop.
At the time Hong Kong was still controlled by the UK.
he’s using it as proof that British institutions work well when seeded with good talent from EU countries
The UK already gets and got Mozzie head-cutters from their colonies in Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan etc.
COWARDS!!

I agree with you.
Regarding immigrants particularly: During the primary season, Andrew Wilkow had an immigration analyst on his radio program a couple of times. The man said that their studies showed that the education level of an immigrant - not country of origin or legal status - was the key factor in whether he was an economic gain or loss to the destination country.
Don’t know what your “odd” statement is about, nor your misconception of me. Following your tinfoil hat paranoid statement about Reuters who reported on a poll that is not even theirs.. and I have to add I don’t much care.
And you are? LoL!
I’ll mark you down as another weirdo fanboy.
I collected a few of you losers over the years.
