..."If we choose to leave, we can leave but let's be clear if we do leave we are walking out the door, we are quitting, we are giving up on this organisation which even if we leave will have a huge effect on our lives, our children, on our opportunities, on our businesses," he said .
"I don't think Britain at the end is a quitter. I think we stay and fight. That is what we should do. That is what made our country great and that's how it will be great in the future.
"At my office I sit two yards away from the Cabinet Room where Winston Churchill decided in May 1940 to fight on against Hitler - the best and greatest decision anyone has made in our country
"He didn't want to be alone, he wanted to be fighting with the French and with the Poles and with the others but he didn't quit. He didn't quit on Europe, he didn't quit on European democracy, he didn't quit on European freedom.
"We want to fight for those things today. You can't win, you can't fight, if you are not in the room. You can't win a football match if you are not on the pitch."

I can’t imagine Winston Churchill having anything to do with the EU.

Oh yes, he would be in the EU. But he would see BRitain further in -- to thwart the Franco-German axis.
British policy since 1700 has been to prevent any one power or coalition from dominating Europe. To this end they have allied with the Germans against the French, the French against the Germans, the Russians against the Germans, the French against the Russians etc. etc.
The British by being in the EU have counter-balanced the French a lot and made the EU more business friendly. Churchill would have stuck in the EU and formed an alliance with the remaining 60% of EU GDP to balance the French and Germans. Also, since Hollande has come on board, Angela has in fact been closer to the UK position.

To stay is to surrender to the autocrates of Brussels.

It isn’t quitting or walking out the door.
It is dropping a failed experiment and walking through a door to a new beginning.

I agree with "some tech guy" - Brexit is wrong for the UK, BUT I think it will bring a lot of good to the EU. This is why I think this:
Without the EU, the following will happen to the UK
- Definitely the Scots will ask for a referendum (they promised last time it was for a generation, but will now claim special circumstances) and they will win, the UK will just become England-Wales and the NI will either join the RoI or split with the southern half joining the RoI
- a large chunk of industries will move to the continent or beef up their subsidiaries there at the expense of the UK
- The pound will fall, housing will get more affordable (good things), there won't be such a queue for the NHS
- But there will be less jobs -- the lower classes after having lived so long on welfare (for generations since the 70s) will not want to do the menial work
- There will be a war between the Moslems in Birmingham and the hedonistic white welfare class there (The white lower class in the UK has given up on Christianity utterly)

Hardly — the UK already doesn’t belong to schengen and has an opt-out for many issues

How exactly is the EU a failed experiment as you say?
The EU has four aims
- To establish European citizenship. This means protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms.
- To ensure freedom, security and justice. ...
- To promote economic and social progress. ...
- To assert Europe's role in the world.
It's done these very well. How exactly is the EU (as opposed to the Euro) a failed experiment?

No, it is not like “Siding with Hitler” — The EU forces Germany into playing with others. The UK being part of the EU gets a veto vote and has used its economic power to force changes. Staying out is like letting the smaller powers in the continent fall under a common umbrella and the UK gets no say. RIght now they have more power to force change than they would ever have if they left
