Businesses can’t find enough qualified workers to whom they can pay unqualified wages; that is the problem.

or as the requirement for workers that actually come to work, don’t use drugs, and can cope with the increasingly absolute need to deal with the computers with which they must use, don’t have the language skills required to communicate (American born Americans), the employers have learned that the task of finding workers is very hard.

Workers have learned that the constant and increasing rate of change means that he who finds a comfortable rut will be in trouble when that rut is bypassed by change and is no longer required.

Concur. Given what today’s schools turn out, it is surprising that businesses aren’t having even more problems finding qualified people.

Exactly. They want an experienced expert, who they will pay like an entry-level employee and then expect them to work at any random task assigned like an intern.

And if they are a white male, then promotion is out of the question. Gotta get those diversity stats up, you understand.

Eldest manages a Papa John’s, his biggest problem is those who apply are drug addicts, or have arrest records, no GED, and suspended DL’s. He took a failing store to a record setting store with better hiring guidelines, waiting on drug test and making sure his people WORKED. Works his butt off 12-14 hrs a day. Now he is in negations to be a regional manager. He had to start off as a driver, until they fired the incompetent manager. It’s tough to find a job after 40 today. Plus he is a Type 2 Diabetic to add to job stress and health care packages.

No it is not the problem, it is the result of the problem of the left's war on business.   These hard core left-wing Marxists running things love wages and hate profits, and it's the hating profits that prevents the wage hikes.  The left hates the rich more than they love th poor so they just double down on class their warfare.
