A Labour MP has died after she was shot three times and repeatedly stabbed in a shocking attack as she arrived at her constituency surgery. Mother-of-two Jo Cox, 41, was airlifted to hospital after a gunman opened fire on her in Birstall near Leeds.
Witnesses said the man was at the office before she arrived and shot her three times, once in the head, before stabbing her as she lay on the ground. Her husband Brendan tweeted a photo of his wife two hours after she died from catastrophic injuries. He later urged people to 'fight against the hatred that killed her.' In a statement, he said: 'Today is the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. More difficult, more painful, less joyful, less full of love. I and Jo's friends and family are going to work every moment of our lives to love and nurture our kids and to fight against the hate that killed Jo. 'Jo believed in a better world and she fought for it every day of her life with an energy, and a zest for life that would exhaust most people.
'She would have wanted two things above all else to happen now, one that our precious children are bathed in love and two, that we all unite to fight against the hatred that killed her. Hate doesn't have a creed, race or religion, it is poisonous.
'Jo would have no regrets about her life, she lived every day of it to the full.' A 53-year-old - named locally as 'loner' Tommy Mair - has been arrested by police and his house is currently being searched by forensic experts.

There are actually quite a few Labour MPs campaigning for leave. The issue splits both main parties down the middle, though less so in Labour than the Conservatives.

MOST (normal) humans would be too wrapped in shock and grief.

MOST people would still be in shock at the event and the death of their spouse.

I don't remember what it was, but there was a similar story recently--probably someone's husband (rather than someone's wife), definitely involving social media (if not sharing a picture). There was some discussion around here about it, and I wonder if someone else here remembers.
People act out in strange ways. Nowadays people tweet all the time about anything and everything. Put the grief and all the constant tweeting together and it doesn’t sound as abnormal as it once might have. What once was private — and you can bet people thought and talked that way in private — now goes out over the Internet almost immediately. It’s the new normal.

Political to you. Political to me. Political to the general public. I would expect her husband to take it a little more personal, and not use her death to score political points before her body is even cold.
But two HOURS.
NORMAL people would be wondering what to tell the kids, planning funeral services, deciding what/where to do with the body, calling friends and family. And just imagining the empty bed where their spouse slept. The coffee cup they left in the sink that morning. Where the car is. Her belongings. That sort of stuff.

He was on a work crew from his counseling facility who were fixing up a local park. From the larger picture that snippet was from it looks like they were building a raised wooden walkway.
I’m with you on this — it’s WAY creepy.
To the point of being suspicious.
