Jack Cashill's TWA 800: Practicing Journalism in a Failed Republic
American Thinker ^ | June 16 2016 | James Sanders

Posted on 06/16/2016 9:12:21 AM PDT by Kaslin

James Sanders was the first investigative reporter to get beyond the TWA 800 press releases issued by the FBI. He paid a high price for doing so. If Sanders seems a bit cynical, the reader will soon understand why. -- Jack Cashill

America’s citizens must learn the truth: Reality is what remains after federal propagandists interpret fact. This is an absolute truth for citizens living in a failed republic -- including the United States in 2016.

I’m a medically retired police officer from southern California with more than thirty years experience investigating federal lawlessness buried within the National Archives storage boxes and the Freedom of Information Act. In my investigation of TWA Flight 800 among other incidents, I discovered that the greater story was the fall of the American Republic.

Over the decades it became abundantly evident the federal National Security State does not care what the law states. It will fight to keep the worst sins classified even though the law says documents classified secret and more than fifty years old must be declassified with only two very narrow exceptions: weapons of mass destruction and the name of a source.

Navy? I did not mention navy.

How many people does it take to pull a trigger?

how many to pilot a boat

How big or small does a boat need to be to get the trigger man under the path of a plane?

Something went up from the horizon, and the plane did in fact blow up.

What remains is who and why, not what.

I agree. If it was a US Navy missile there’s no way the large group of people that had to be involved could have stayed 100% silent for this long after the explosion.

I agree the plane was hit by a missile. Always have. But, IMHO, the source of the missile was probably terrorists.

Why did Vince Foster commit suicide and hardly bleed?

Because he found out Hillary was a blood sucking lesbian? And she had no respect for his wimpy liberal ass.

If that is the case, there are a lot of navy and air force people who would have to be silenced. Not everyone of them were Clinton fans and would have kept silent for this long.

That's what I was thinking.

Lots of sailors would have seen that missile leave the ship. Some might have noticed that its path curved toward land (they wouldn't have intentionally launched one toward shore, would they?).

The chance that out of all the people who knew about this, not one has stepped forward to express is suspicions... is very small.

If that is true, why cover up that terrorists did it? And, why would terrorists not want to publicize that they had the capability to disrupt our air commerce, both in and around the US? If it was a tit-for-tat and the Iranians considered us to be a paper tiger, which they did, what did they have to fear if they did claim that they did it?

did anything ever come of Pierre Salinger’s claims that a missle brought it down?

I’m sorry, but this is total and complete BS. All accusations but no proof. This is simply the same old discredited “the Navy did it” accusations in a new wrapper by someone trying to sell books, etc.

As just one simple fact, out of so many that disprove all this BS, does anyone think a Navy ship could have shot down a huge airplane and no sailor aboard the ship wouldn’t have screamed to the media?

Unfortunately the world is full of scammers trying to hustle a buck from a tragety.

TWA 800 was brought down July 17, the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in Atlanta was two days away.

The Clintonista regime did not want to be embarrassed by a terrorist shoot down of an airliner prior to the arrival of international guests.

I believe Clinton wanted someone on that plane dead.

As I've asked before, if you were the President and wanted someone dead can you describe a way of killing them that is more elaborate, complex, uncertain and requires a bigger conspiracy than shooting down a commercial airliner?

For God's sake, you have the full resources of the CIA at your disposal and this is what you come up with?

Why was it shot down?

It was shot down as revenge for the shooting down of Iran Air flight 655 by the US Vincennes in 1988.

If there is a cover up, what are they covering?

The fact that Iranians shot down a US commercial jet liner with a surface to air missile.

It would have wrecked the air-travel industry, it would have horrified all our allies in Europe because the idea of the US going to war with Iran would seriously disrupt their oil supplies, and of course because Bill Clinton is a draft dodging coward with no moral authority to lead anyone.

Bill Clinton did not want this to be an attack by agents of Iran just prior to the Presidential election. He therefore ordered the Military and Federal agencies to declare this incident to be an unfortunate accident.

I personally know someone who was involved in this investigation and who says that they received a direct order to destroy evidence about this incident.

I have known this person since the mid 1990s, and they were working in a job at that time that establishes in my mind their credibility as a real source of information relating to this incident.

Still don't buy it. They wouldn't have needed to do that from the east coast of the US and risk being discovered before the event. They could have done it from closer to their home and not risk discovery. We had all sorts of commercial flights in and around the middle east and Europe that were more tempting targets.

And, what type of missile was used? TWA800 was reportedly at ~16,000 feet when the incident happened. No manpad had that altitude capability, at that time. If it was a larger missile, how did we miss it? And, manpads at that time were IR guided and probably still are. Why would this hit the underbelly of a non-manuevering a/c instead of one of the engines running in climb thrust.

The terrorist angle still doesn't seem right?

I have been told by my source that we did discover who did it. It was former Iranian military personnel, hired by a wealthy and prominent family in Iran, to avenge the death of their relatives which were killed in the USS Vincennes incident.

It was supposedly the action of "rogue agents" and not sanctioned by the government of Iran.

My source tells me that the Iranians assured the US officials with whom they were in contact about the incident, that they would deal forcefully with the people involved.

We had all sorts of commercial flights in and around the middle east and Europe that were more tempting targets.

That would only send the message that the middle east is a dangerous place. I believe the intent was to demonstrate that they could hurt us right in our own airspace.

If it was a larger missile, how did we miss it?

How did we miss it? Who was looking for it prior to it being fired? After it was fired I expect the boat high tailed it out of there.

The terrorist angle still doesn't seem right

It sounds more reasonable to me than the idea there was an 80 joule ignition source in the fuel tank.

I have no way of confirming or denying your version and it does sound somewhat plausible and even deniable from Wash DC standpoint. However, it also sounds like a plot to a Tom Clancy novel, if he was still alive. And, if true a lot of people should now be in jail. Thanks.

When they are fired from a ship everyone on the ship knows it.

But everybody doesn't know what it hit. If they were told that it hit a target drone as intended and the Navy would discipline any sailors making public speculations to the contrary, nobody would say anything and only a very few crew members would know the truth.

Duh. The FBI ran the NTSB off and then the CIA quietly took over.

...

The NTSB assembled their team that night and was onsite the next day. Their investigation was continuous until completed. The FBI had their own investigation in case it was a criminal act. The FBI used the CIA to analyze witness statements. The FBI and CIA work was incorporated into the NTSB report.

Yup. I remember when it happened. There was video on the news that showed a brightly lit incoming object intercept the plane before it exploded. The video was never shown again. I have no doubt the plane was shot down.

...

Was the incoming object arching down?

I remember NTSB inspectors who were not allowed into the hangar where the plane’s parts were.

I’ve always considered it a high probability TWA 800 was brought down by a missile.
1. Brother of a military co-worker was an eye witness, and described in detail what looked like a small to medium SAM launch, prior to the explosion.
2. New York Air National Guard Major Frederick C. Meyer ordered to stop talking publicly about what he witnessed (a SAM launch).
3. I have over 20years/12,000hours flying Boeings, and the NTSB/FBI explanation of a fuel tank explosion is extremely unlikely.
4. TWA 800 was brought down 2 days before the opening of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Note: Atlanta Olympics is where FBI and Clinton’s DOJ were quick to accuse the hero Richard Jewell of placing a bomb that killed several people. http://www.wnd.com/2004/10/27094
