A Portland restaurateur used her business’s Facebook page to speak her mind on assault weapons — inciting a backlash from gun rights advocates.
Anne Verrill, owner of Grace on Chestnut Street, and Foreside Tavern & Side Bar in Falmouth, published the post on Wednesday, along with a photo of an assault rifle similar to the one used in the Orlando massacre.
“I have spent 12 years, intentionally, not being political on this page… Let me be clear, this is not a political issue,” she wrote, according to several reports. “This is a human rights issue. If you own this gun, or you condone the ownership of this gun for private use, you may no longer enter either of my restaurants, because the only thing I want to teach my children is love.”
Verrill, who later deleted the post, told BDN Portland that she stood by her comments, but said she was only addressing a specific firearm.
“I am in no way, shape or form trying to lump a group of people and tell them I will not serve them,” Verrill said. “I spoke very specifically about a specific gun, that was specifically used to terrorize a group of people who are now all dead.”
The message prompted many commenters on Facebook to criticize the post, though some did defend her. The restaurant also received a number of negative reviews, citing the post.
“Big old target now painted on your business now that criminals know you and your patrons do not carry protection,” one person said.

Legal question is can a person or entity that maintains a public accommodation legally infringe on the constitutional rights of any individual inclined to engage that accommodation?

So... she was talking about a specific gun, but posted a photo of a different gun.

A place to stay away from. Who is going to carry a real assault rifle into a restaurant? Perhaps she is attempting a ‘gun free’ zone. If so you should really stay out of this potential death trap.
These 'salt rifle' lemmings would chit themselves if they got a look at an AR-10 or M1A cutting loose in the same setting.
AR's are just their first step.

There are so many liberal establishments the right could easily put out of business. We could do serious damage to the media, Hollywood and sports as well. All it will take is tens of millions of committed boycotters
She should also ban people who own box knifes and produce vendors who provide food products grown with fertilizers. And if she really cares about the children, then she needs to ban people who own back yard swimming pools, because more children die from drowning at home in a year, than all the homicide victims of the AR-15 since the beginning of time.
A restaurant owner can decide to withhold service to anyone who owns a gun.
But a bakery owner can’t decide to withhold service if it’s against their religious belief?
So personal opinion trumps religious beliefs?

How is this diff from discriminating against gays? Seems exactly the same. So, I think the courts need to force her to sever gun owners. :)
