A week after Hugh Hewitt called on the Republican National Committee to change its convention rules if Donald Trump could not change himself, the conservative radio host has signaled that he is back on-board supporting the party's presumptive nominee.

Along with HH, another person I haven’t touched for years is Ed Morrissey.
Both think they have more influence than they actually do.
I’m not a fan of HH but if he’s on board with Trump now I’ll take that as good news. Trump needs to convert a bunch of people who have claimed to this point that they’ll never support him. This is a good start and I won’t condemn him for his previous attacks if he’s truly turned over a new leaf.
When he gets the new tube he’ll then find, “Crap! That’s not cowboy radio, that’s just some geezer screeching about Trump! “ *click*
Does anyone really care?
Good for you - that is exactly what it takes.
Beck has pivotted
My story is the same, except that I changed from Cruz to Trump in December when I came to believe that DT was the better choice.
Presently on display here at FreeRepublic is a conflict between human nature - which wants to boast that "I was right before you were so you suck!" - and common sense which understands the necessity to win new allies and welcomes them. The latter wins elections. Let's never forget that Paul, the greatest Christian who ever lived, persecuted believers before becoming one of them and eventually their leader. Or that Ronald Reagan was a Socialist and union activist before seeing the light of freedom and leading the free world.
In this election, I welcome all support that is wholehearted and sincere. Time will tell if Hewitt's newly proclaimed endorsement fits that bill, but I won't run him off unless and until he proves to be a fraud.

Given the ego involved, I can only imagine the scope of the negative responses he received that caused this turnaround.
I’m sure he’s still one controversial Trump statement away from dropping his support again.
But is he Series?......................
I welcome any real support he and the other #nevertrumpers will give, but think he and his group (Rush included) did some major long term damage to the Trump candidacy.
That kind of damage can, and I believe will be overcome, but it was more than slightly disturbing to watch. I don't know what the answer is for people like HH, but I know I'll have a hard time trusting any of his opinions again.
Oops, act dropped the f. Should have been fact, not act.
I have no disagreement with what you said, but I do take issue with those who forever dismiss potential allies - because isn’t that exactly what we accuse our GOPe adversaries of doing? They needed a lot of us to elect both Bushes, and we will need a lot of them to elect Trump. Hugh Hewitt has a broad audience in Bill Bennett’s former morning drive time slot, and I hope he’ll use it to draw more voters to Trump. I don’t care if those voters are reluctant or conflicted or kicking and screaming; a dollar is a dollar and a vote is a vote. I want every vote we can get.
As a country we are finished if a democrat wins the presidency. We are on the edge of a cliff, we need all the help we can get. Converting #nevertrumpers is my goal. I am two out of four so far, and know a bunch of others I intend to reach.
Aren’t those kinds of supporters called ‘fair weather supporters’?
When the next wind changes, the sour-grapes whiner backstabbing coalition will follow.
Likely, Hewitt discovered his influence is not nearly as much as he thought it was.
Get on board or get left behind — the only other option is Clinton.
That is what RINOs do.
Change their minds with the direction of the wind.
Donald to Hugh. No Thanks, I don’t need your endorsement you Wimp....
Who has the Smpsons “Ha-ha!” graphic?
Hugh Hewitt still has a radio show?
He’s a Cheap Labor Express propagandist along with his buddy Medved.
Take everything he says with a boulder of salt.
His radio ratings must be way down.
He should co-occupy a padded cell with Glenniacal Beck.
